The outside surroundings of Penzion Livada were very beautiful - path leading through well tended garden with blooming flowers - this changed to slight disappointment when the interior wasn't on the matching level (maybe the garden part just lifted the expectations too high). The menu was typical to the area, containing Italian and Slovenian dishes.
Couple of us was ordering small salads that were separately priced in the menu in addition to their dishes (from buffet style salad bar in the room) - and to our positive surprise the waitress let us believe that the salads were included in the normal dish prices so naturally everyone jumped in for the starter salads. This provided information proved to be incorrect when paying the bill (to the same waitress of course). When we brought this issue up the waitress just said that of course the salads weren't included in the dishes (in Italian over-exaggerating "how can you think that we could afford that" style). This "might" have been some misunderstanding in communication, but as all of us were certain that the salads were said to be included we we're left with an uncomfortable feeling that we were being treated as tourists and blatantly lied to over few extra euros.
Apart from the confusion with the salads the average rating from our four diners was not too flattering (this was discussed between us before discovering the billing issues): my soup was good, one steak dish was said to be ok, but two said that their dishes didn't taste good (fish & some Slovenian dish). The restaurant visit was also the most expensive one on our trip so the bang-for-the-buck department seemed to be way off.
So from our single - very disappointing experience - I'd recommend you to stay clear of this place and head towards other restaurants in the town.
