We stayed in H2ostel for 3 nights at the end of May. There were 4 of us and we stayed in a 4-bedded en-suite dorm. The room itself wasn't the biggest but it was clean, beds were comfortable and all basics were provided. The hostel is in a great location, with just a few minutes walk to the city centre and a large Spar and fruit market just across the road. There are two buildings in the hostel, one with the main reception downstairs and another separate building a couple of floors up (this was where we stayed). The only drawback in that if you needed anything from the reception late at night, you had to go outside and walk down to the other building a few yards down the road but this wasn't a huge problem for us. The hostel staff were friendly and answered any questions we had about Ljubljana and also taught us some Slovenian phrases which we found very useful!

Would recommend this hostel to travellers looking for clean, centrally-located acommodation on a budget!

I stayed 6 nights at this hostel (or possibly one of it's associated hostels because it seems there are two or three that are managed by the same people along the street) and it is an awesome location just near the Dragon Bridge in Ljubljana. Easy 5 minutes to the markets, less than 10 to the city centre and the funicular/paths to the castle. 15 minutes to the train/bus station. It's near a lively street with bars just around the corner (so can be a bit noisy on certain nights) and just across from a supermarket.

The staff are really friendly and helpful with making recommendations for restaurants or bars and for planning day trips like to Bled or Postojna.

The kitchenette is small and tucked under a staircase so a bit cramped but has a stove and sandwich press, microwave and kettle as well as a mini fridge.

I stayed in a 8 person mixed dorm that had only one bathroom (shower plus toilet) and it's not clear where any others are so that's a negative. But comfy mattresses, clean sheets and clean dorms/bathroom. They will also do washing for you for 4€ (+4€ drying as well or you can just hang it outside).

Two different wifi networks between the reception/kitchen and the dorm which is strange but all have good connections.

Would probably stay here again!

Two of us stayed in a large room which can accomodate up to 6 people. It had a huge bathroom with shower and a really good sized kitchenette and kitchen table. No towels or soaps - remember this is a hostel, not a hotel. At 28Euro per person it is a fantastic deal for this very expensive city. Location is superb.

Room Tip: We stayed in the annex - ground floor, not at the street. It was quiet and comfortable.

Stayed for two nights and the staff were extremely helpful. Our double room with shared bathroom was ok but a big drawback was the fact that the window could not be locked. Whilst it was on the first floor anyone could have accessed our room and stolen our stuff so we had to take everything of any value with us at all times.

The accommodation was fine, an average hostel. We stayed in the dorms which were clean enough. No wifi from the dorms. Common room is very small and no one really hangs out there. Location is excellent. The staff is hit or miss, some were very nice, some were someone rude/incompetent. We did laundry and two of our shirts disappeared. We asked just for a refund of our laundry money, not even asking for money to replace the shirts, and we were yelled at and insulted by the manager/owner who was one of the rudest men I have ever met. So maybe don't do your laundry there. Otherwise, it's an acceptable place to stay.

H2ostel is more than a hostel. It's private rooms are more like a modern inn, with a view to the river. Room well equiped, fair price, awsome location, nice breakfast nearby. Staff really polite and helpful. Would really like to go back, the town is also amazing!

We stayed in a double room with bathroom in at the annex building few doors from the main building. The room looks new but again all the previous comments about exposing wires and unfinished works still exist. Our room is on the ground floor with the window facing the street , the noise and sound of people walking pass by can be annoying. The bathroom is small with no shelves to place your toiletries . Signs of lack of maintenance is visible now even though this building has just been renovated.
There s a very very small kitchen in the main building if you need it and it was inconvenience for us to go there as it was raining all day when we stayed.
Having said that, the staffs are very friendly and willing to answer any questions about Ljubljana and the location which is about 5 and 10 minutes walk to the main square and train station respectively as a plus furthermore it is off the main street and away from the street noise.
Overall, it is an ideal place to stay only for a short period.
