Antiq Palace Hotel & Spa

Upon arrival, you wouldn't expect that the building is a hotel as it looks just like a plain building. It is situated on a quiet street in the old section of Ljubljana. Near restaurants and the major sightseeing points in the city. The rooms are not regular hotel rooms but very big suites, more like simply furnished apartments. Flat screen TV with good selection of channels. The only downside with the rooms are the beds, which are just a bit too hard. Staff very friendly and helpful and speak excellent English. Breakfast has decent selection and a good ambiance. Nice spa. Overall, very good value for money. Recommended for business travellers, families and couples.

What a true find. The property has been renovated to the the highest standards, the large apartments are beautifully appointed - light and airy, the "STAFF" is next to none on their attentiveness to their guests, the morning breakfast was an array of wonderful offerings, the location is great - close to everything, there is a spa on site - the treatments were some of the best I have experienced, the candles burning in the common areasmade the ambience even more special, the availability of three private saunas and a jaccuzi, plus the wonderful state of the art fitness center rounded out the special experience.

Kathy will work with you to make your stay very special and ensure that when you leave your only regret will be that you did not stay longer.

I found this hotel just by searching the internet; the price for a rather large room was quite reasonable, so I booked it. It is located near the university and a short walk from the historic center. My suite was 5 rooms, including bedroom, living/sitting room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom (perhaps 6 rooms if you included the private balcony I had as well). The spaces were open and comfortable, though the walls were a bit lacking in terms of some artwork. My only complaint is the bathroom; for such a large suite, the bathroom was a bit of a closet with perhaps the smallest sink I have ever had in a hotel. The shower was a corner shower with a plastic curtain that insisted on clinging to my body during most of my shower. Beyond this, the property is beautiful, and it has been renovated very nicely; all the public spaces have a sumptuous feeling to them. The breakfast was very nice as well. I would certainly stay here again.

Fantastic location with exceptional service. Our stay was at a quiet time in february before the half term holidays. Huge suites with everything needed for our stay. Wi-fi in all rooms and a good selection of satellite channels on TV. We were able to book the spar for ourselves which was nice. Breakfast was included and was fine. The manager's recommendations for eating out were excellent. All in all a great short break in a great country.

I love this place. It hasn't been open long so they're still ironing out a few of the creases but that doesn't mean you can't have an excellent stay here. Don't be afraid of the decor. You might think its a little posh. But the staff and the friendliness of the hotel means you'll feel completely relaxed. The staff made our stay most enjoyable and nothing was too much trouble. Whether it was finding an adapter plug for my obscure US phone or cranking up the sauna with a bottle of champagne at 11pm night they were happy to help. (so yes do sit in the stream room with your champangne!)

The breakfast at the hotel is splendid and please enjoy a complimentary shot of whisky after your morning coffee! (we were told that this is a good start to the day – they were right!)

The location is excellent and its right in the centre of town close to the three bridges. The rooms are lovely and large but need to be "lived in" before they settle. The free wi-fi is a major plus. Its nice to plan your day's trip out on your phone or iPad and the free wi-fi makes that easy.

So if you're looking for a weekend away this is the perfect place. Enjoy!

I would like to highly recommend Antiq Spa Hotel, as the Hotel has a great location, spacious suites, private spa access and treatment. The staff is very welcoming, with a personal attitude to guests and trying its best to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The hotel is a cultural site, so you could enjoy a special feeling of uniqueness of the place. I highly recommend it to anyone who would like to come on a business trip, or for leisure.
