We really enjoyed our stay at Dvor Tacen. The deluxe room was ideal for us (a couple + young daughter). It was spacious, clean, warm, and well-decorated. The bathroom was absolutely spotless and had a very nice shower too. It is located on a small river in a small town outside of Llubljana.
The family who runs the B&B is very accommodating and kind. In fact, the first evening we had a little difficulty since there was some noise from the bar under our room but they did all that they could to make it up to us. (The music was actually lovely and if we hadn't been staying there with a small child it probably wouldn't have mattered:)). The fact that they REALLY cared about this says a lot about how attentive they are. I should also mention that we slept very well the other two nights.
The breakfast was quite good - there were several choices from a small menu including eggs, and toasted sandwiches. They recommended a very good Italian restaurant "Caval" down the street (we were coming from Italy and still loved their pizza) and we also ate well at the local restaurant next door (as well as in several 'ethnic' restaurants in the Llubljana).
It is located about ten minutes from the city under a small mountain where there are plenty of hikes to take. It was also a short, easy drive to reach both Bled and the Postojna Caves (by car).
We would definitely stay with them again!

Room Tip: We loved our deluxe room!

Dvor Tacen is magnificent. It's very unassuming both in its exterior and interior, but everything screams of comfort, friendliness, and "home". We arrived at 11am and was treated by the most welcoming Jasmina who bent backwards to try to make us feel comfortable and answer all our questions. We had a standard double, not huge but absolutely relaxing with great bedding and bathroom. We were even offered choices of pillows. The cafe downstairs has wonderful ambience as well as great service. Although food choices are not extensive, it was delicious. Jasmina said they are in the process of expanding the kitchen to offer more hot entrees. Breakfast was fantastic with self-service cold items and a la carte hot plates. Great coffee too.

This is by far the most satisfying hotel experience we have had in a while. We most definitely recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at the Dvor Tacen between an afternoon arrival at Ljubljana airport and travel on to Croatia. It is close enough to both airport and the centre of the city to be convenient if you have a car, but there is little to do near the hotel except walk by the river. Service and accomodation were excellent and this b&b was very good value for money.

I and my friend stayed in Dvor Tacen for one night in Sept. On the day of check out, the house owner Jasmina helped to call a taxi for us to the airport. My friend left her camera in the taxi and we did not find out until a day later. My friend emailed Jasmina who contacted the taxi driver and confirmed the camera was left in the car. Jasmina then arranged to deliver the camera back to Hong Kong where we live. The parcel arrived in good shape today. Amazing. No one can tell how grateful we are. It's not about the cost of the camera but the sweet memories inside. Jasmina has been very helpful from the very beginning I booked the house to the last day we left. The transportation arrangement, the travel tips, everything.... We highly recommend Dvor Tacen to everyone.

We stayed here for one night, when we arrived in Ljubljana, before collecting our rental car and starting our two week holiday in Slovenia and Croatia.
The bed and breakfast is far from the center of the city, but is located right on a main bus route. It was actually a very good location for us, because once we picked up our rental car, it was really easy to head out of the city to the west, towards Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj etc.
The room was clean and comfortable, with a very good (not too firm) mattress. The breakfast was adequate.
The only small issue we had was the noise from the restaurant below our window. It seems to be
A very popular local gathering place. The noise stopped by midnight, barely acceptable, but then there was some loud noise around 3 a.m. It can be difficult to return to sleep after an interru9like that.
All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend this b and b- the staff were help and friendly. I would only suggest trying to get a room away from the noise of their restaurant.

Room Tip: Away from restaurant noise if possible.
