Hostel 24

First impressions were great as the girl who served me behind the reception desk was incredibly friendly and full of useful advice about what to see and where to go in Ljubljana. The hostel is also conveniently located, only a short walk from the city centre (Ljubljana is small enough anyway) and only about 10 minutes from the train station. The rooms were slightly small and could feel cramped when full of people but at least there were lockers available to store valuables.

So this was a great hostel. The ladies at the desk were so friendly and kind. Made it a lot easier. We were in the 12 bed dorm which is in the basement. It's a little cramped and tight but it's a hostel so you expect that.
The location is great, Ljubljana is not massive so everything is within walking distance.

We had only one night in this hostel, but it was a good one. We had a private double, the only room in the hostel that has its own entrance from the street. It has huge windows with blinds facing the street, its own AC(heat air pump) that you regulate yourself, antique furniture and a no nonsense bathroom.
It is quite low ceiling, so low that I would think you'd have to bend your neck if you are taller than 185 cm. And to get to the room you have to walk an extremely narrow spiraling staircase. Which makes carrying of luggage a bit of a challenge. So if you are tall, have much (wide and heavy) luggage, or have to walk with crutches/walking stick, this room is not for you.
Room felt clean, with the occasional dust blowing in from the huge open window. In the small window in the toilet they could have wiped away the street dust and dead insects in my opinion. Everything else was kept in a nice and clean condition.
We didn't find out why there is a "spa" in the name of the hostel, nothing really hinted toward spa or bath or treatments in the common rooms.
Didn't try out the pizzeria, because we came and left between the opening hours.

Room Tip: The private double with its own entrance is very silent and comfortable.

My boyfriend and I had originally booked 2 beds in a 6 bed dorm. However, upon check in, we were pleasantly surprised by the friendly receptionist that she had upgraded us to a private double room for no extra charge.

To get to the room, we had to go up some makeshift stairs. The stairs were wobbly and unstable, however it sort of added to the character of the hostel. The room was small and cosy and had shower and heating facilities that were excellent. In the basement, you will find a small kitchen that has more or less everything that you will need.

Located a little further from the bus station then I would have liked, the hostel was still close to city centre and we were able to walk to most of the main attractions. One suggestion for the management's consideration would be to erect a lighted sign outside the hostel - It was quite hard to locate it when we arrived at night.

A pleasant place overall! :)

I was with my boyfriend in this hostel for 4 nights, and I have just nice words for this place. Room was small but very cozy, we had our personal bathroom, it was clean, and we had everything we needed. Kitchen was common, but it had everything you needed. The hostel is near the city center, and very close to a Zitni bridge. It has a big Spar supermarket nearby.

We stayed here for one night. Room we stayed in is very small with a tiny bathroom. Walls are thin so the footsteps in the hallway sound like they're some other people in the room. The room 8. is overlooking the street and the buses passing woke me up several times.
It's clean and the staff were awesome. You get a free welcome coffee from some friendly girls.
Location is fantastic. It's minutes away from everything, by foot. Ljubljana is small so you don't really need public transportation to see everything of value in the city center. And it's a lovely place so I recommend walking.
I think it's a typical hostel for young people and backpackers but it could be a bit cheaper.

Room Tip: Get a room that doesn't overlook the street.
