Rooms are clean, spacious, nicely decorated and the shared bathrooms are kept clean. Breakfast is basic but adequate enough.

The metal beds are really squeaky, they should definitely consider changing those!!

The location is fantastic - you are basically in the very centre of Ljubljana and only a 10 minute walk from the station.

Staff are really outstanding - our first double room faced the main street. We stayed during the EuroBasket weekend, so lots of cafes/bars were opening later and louder. And when we returned to our room late at night realised that this meant we could sleep due the ridiculous noise, added to by a window we couldn't close properly.

We complained to reception and the guy managed to find us a couple of beds in a quiet dorm to spend the rest of the night. And then arranged for us to move to a new room at the back of th hostel the following morning.

When we went down for breakfast we were pleased to find the staff had rearranged to make sure we could stay in our new room for the remainder of the stay.

Overall, despite the fairly terrible first night. Staff made up for it and we were really sad to leave! Would highly recommend this hostel!!

This place feels all lovely, shiny and brand new. It's an old bank with some cool, even slightly strange money-related decor! The bracelet key is very cool - this place is so modern. It is spotlessly clean and I had a great stay here. The location is superb. The breakfast is good, but get down early or it might be gone. There is a huge selection of teas - tea lovers take note.

The place really has been designed quite beautifully... or has it? The walls are adorned with endless artwork and quotes, fancy lighting, music in the hallways, wristband keys... all very cool, but i didn't see any lockers?

The beds were a little creaky and there were no lockers... and we all know how much backpackers love lockers. Everything at the hostel was generally fine except the lack of lockers, and well, and the hostel charged me more than my booking for some reason, though once I noticed it was all sorted out nice and quickly and the staff were very apologetic.

As a married couple around 30, we are not the average guest for a hostel, but wanted to give it a try. We were set up to share a 4-bed room, but changed to our own 2-bed room because we had been going to bed early each night at our other hotels on this trip. We are very happy with that choice.

The hostel is located half a block from city center. If we stayed at a hotel with that location, we would have paid a crazy amount. The hostel was very affordable, and we had our own room, but had to share the bathrooms with others. The building is an renovated bank, so it has some unique spaces, such as the atrium on the 1st floor and used as a common space. The old vault is where breakfast is served. They have used the bank theme throughout, with quotes about money on the walls, and old safes are reinvented as tables in the common spaces.

The staff was great. They were really friendly and helpful, and someone was always there. The breakfast was included, but just okay. It had cereal, bread, and cold cuts.

Quiet time starts at 10pm, but the halls can get a bit loud, even after that, which can be heard from the room. I guess that's to be expected with a hostel. They also play music in the halls during the day, just a heads up.

The room was very basic, but clean and comfortable. It did have a/c, but could use some more storage for our bags. The women's restrooms were fine, but I heard the men's was not as nice. Showering was a different experience. There are 3 unisex showers in one room, each with its own "stall" to change in, so don't worry about that. The shower was surrounded in mirrors, which is awkwardly funny, and it's one of those push button showers that you have to push every 30 seconds to keep it going.

I would recommend this place, but as long as people are comfortable with the younger crowd and what comes with it. For the price, it can't be beat.

Lets say the positive first. Location is really good, front desk staff very nice. The double room pristine clean. Breakfast not too bad.

But. They say there is air conditioner - it seems to be just a decoration object as it does nothing to cool the room. Temperature inside the room was 29 whole time, no matter what you did. The staff couldn't help on that either. Showers in the shared bathroom also looked really nice but were a nightmare to use.

The worst part however was the fact there was no sound isolation. There was a group of really noisy drunken young Australians and we didn't get any sleep. When we asked them to be quiet, after the third time, one of them kicked the door of our room inside. It broke and flew wide open. So in this hostel, you can easily break the doors to get in the rooms if you want.

Turned out, there was no security cameras either. Anywhere. Receptionist refused to call the police and said the management would contact us in the morning. He promised to deal with the drunks but the fact was they continued their screaming until the morning. So it was a totally sleepless night for us. Also the fact that the door was broken anyone to come inside didn't make us very sleepy either.

In the morning, receptionist was extremely nice but there was no word from the management. They just passed a message we wouldn't even get our money back - but we could get 2 t-shirts for free. Thank you for that.

So this is a hostel, there is no security cameras, and safety seems not to be the biggest concern. Doors can be easily broken. If I was a single woman for example, I would think twice to stay here. What if the next aggressively drunk person gets some other ideas?

Dear Sasifi,

We feel really bad about the situation that happened during your stay , with this group of very happy youngsters who came to our hostel . We felt terrible that your sleep was disturbed and that we couldn´t move you anywhere else as we were completelly full . That night our staff paid special attention so nothing else would happen.

As for temperature in the hostel goes. You stayed with us in the middle of a heat wave, Air condition shutted down a couple of times in that period, we managed to get it up in the evennings, but still…this was a project we worked on constantly during those really hot days when temperature went crazy up more then 40 Degrees. But we managed to get the best out of it.

We are again very sorry that you had a bad experience and we thank you for your understanding and thank you for other nice things you mentioned.

A great place I you prefer to be very very central in Ljubljana.

The style is nice but it lacks some basic things, the air conditioner has a nice electric control but doesn't cool down the place at all. The beds are simply terrible, I suppose they have better beds in prisons. The shower doesn't have any temperature controller for the water (or I couldn't find them) and you have to check first the water temperature before getting undressed.

Never the less it was a very clean place which I can recommend for short term stays in central Ljubljana. We stayed there three nights and I Couldn't sustain any more the most squeakiest beds in the world.

Have a nice trip, Ljubljana is worth a visit.

Hey,

thank you so much for your feedback, we always like to hear your part of the story so that we can improve. :)

As for showers goes, you can regulate the temperature and also the lenght of the shower, we are trying to be (eco) friendly as much as posiblle so the basics for the lenght are automized, but you can make it longer.

And beds? They are designed specially for our hostel to give extra comfort and stability, as it looks like some have errors and we are changing those, so it will be helpfull if you let me know which one is yours, to check it out.

Thank you for your stay and hope to see you again one day soon.

Kind regards,

Mateja

I usually prefer small bedrooms for 4 - 6 people to dorms that sleep 10 or more, but this one was surprisingly cozy. Each bunk bed in the dorm has a thick curtain around it which creates a sort of a small place. There's a lamp above each bed, so if you're not in a social mood, you simply pull the curtains and read a book in your bed. Our dorm faced the inner court, so there was no view whatsoever, but it was quiet.
The bathrooms were clean, although the showers were rather small. The breakfast was nothing exceptional, however, very good for the fact that it is included in the price of the night.
The location is excellent: literally a few steps from the central square of the city and some 15 minutes away from the main railway station.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Hostel generally was clean modern and spacious although in our room itself (a double) there was nowhere like drawers table etc to store things. Blinds in room needed replacing according to our resident blinds expert (girlfriend)... I agree with the comment about the inane music pumping out until all hours. Breakfast was good generally but need more choice. Hostel was very central, literally 30 seconds walk from the 3 bridges. Works outside (resurfacing pavement) which may affect you if you are staying at the front but we stayed at the back. Showers on 20 second timer which was a bit annoying but there were plenty of showers and toilets so no need to queue in the morning. Staff were helpful and friendly.
