“Nice stay in Ljubljana”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

Very nice hostel located in the town center (5-10 minutes walking from the station), clean and good value for money.

Good and free wifi. Easy access to a computer as well.
Lockers in the room

Staff very nice and helpful.

We sayed 2 nights recently in this beautiful old atmospheric building. The greeting was warm and friendly and the facilities were amazing including a free ample breakfast,
However, the room temperature was 27.5 degrees both nights and although there was air con, it didn't work. It was impossible to breath or even stay hydrated!!
The other problem was that there was a large group of Australian peeps checked in on the second day. They were noisy from the get go..........no problem at all except they were positively feral, screaming and shouting through the corridors until 04.30. They ransacked the place and even pulled a wash basin right off the wall!!! The staff were young and mostly female and did not intervene at all. We paid £56 for a double room and the hotel prices were not much more, therefore I wouldn't consider this hostel an option next time. They need to be firmer with guests poor behaviour to allow other guests a pleasant experience :(

This hostel could not be better located. It's right in the heart of downtown Ljulbljana and it is very easy to walk everywhere from it. It is very clean and tidy and frankly looks amazing with the abandoned bank theme. The 10 bed room I slept in was very spacious and comfortable, each with its own set of drawers (which are old filers) and the bunk beds have drapes for some extra privacy.

Breakfast in the morning was quite good and the staff are both friendly and helpful. There are plenty of common rooms and areas to hang out in, but for some reason, not many people used them so the hostel atmosphere was kind of lost, hence my lack of a fifth star.

But it's a really great place and its price is definitely fair.

This hostel's location was amazing, just 2 mins walk to the triple bridge and main square. Staff were very friendly and helpful during our time here. The breakfast was great and there were even free smoothies one morning. Rooms are spacious but the bunk beds have no ladders which made it difficult to get to the top bunk. There was only 2 lockable lockers in a 6 person dorm which was a little inconvenient. The A/C cannot be controlled in the room which meant it got very cold at times. Despite this I would recommend because of the amazing location!

Room Tip: Some rooms have bunk beds and single beds. When checking in request a non bunk bed

This was my first experience at a hostel and definetly it was worth it, The location couldn't be better, the staff is very helpful, the place is clean and I loved the decoration, eventough we shared a big room with 8 or 10 more people, the big coloured courtains keep your privacy from them, the only thing is the noise, we were sleeping and some of the other guests just came in making lots of noise, but that's the risk of sharing the room.

In my opinion breakfast should last at least untill 10:30, our first morning we missed it because we didn't know. But the rest of it was really good!

Really enjoyed my stay at Hostel Tresor. Right from the start the staff were extremely helpful, the woman on reception allowed us to check in and showed us to our rooms despite it being only 9am. This meant we could get a bit of sleep seeing as we'd just come off the night train. She also let us have some of the free breakfast which the hostel provides even though we'd only just arrived.

The rooms themselves were great, really big, a lot of charger sockets and the beds and pillows were really comfortable. There were a lot of showers on each floor meaning you never had to wait. There were also laundry facilities but I didn't use them. Each room had cupboards which had locks on them which you could get for a deposit.

This hostel had a lot of character because it used to be a bank and it was certainly an interesting place to stay. The only problem was that there wasn't a great atmosphere when it came to meeting people, despite the fact that the hostel provides several common areas. I guess that we could've just come at a quiet time though.

There's also no proper kitchen, which is a shame given the size of the hostel. Right outside the hostel is a Spar which is great for buying cheap food.

I would definitely recommend staying at Hostel Tresor and I would return if I'm ever in Ljubljana again.

Stayed here for three nights in a two bed room. Comfy beds, free towels, air con, powerful showers, clean toilets, super friendly and helpful staff...couldn't have asked for a nicer hostel. Breakfast is included and it is right next to the river and all of the local attractions. Highly recommended!
