“Worth a quick visit”
Reviewed 10 August 2012

I loved the Cave Church itself, but was very disappointed with the audio tour. It was quite possible the most boring audio tour ever, and was predominately about religion (yes, I do understand it's a working church) and nothing about the history of the Cave Church. I walked out not knowing why there was a church in a cave. Seemed a missed opportunity to me, but it is definitely worth a look as it was pretty stunning.

“Sweet!”
Reviewed 6 August 2012

I didn't see this on any reviews, tour maps or guide books, but it is a lovely church and for 2 or 3 Euros, you get a audio guide and entry to the church. The cave is cut around for the church and small chapels in alcoves.

“Different and interesting”
Reviewed 4 August 2012

For a small fee (500 ft) you get an audio guide and a look around this little Church drilled into the mountain. Some of the items located in the church are interesting and give an insight into why the Church came about.

Well worth a look.

“Overrated and uninteresting”
Reviewed 6 July 2012

The original cave has been filled up by ticket offices etc. so there's not much to see. Instead, they have drilled a cave in the rock under the Castle Hill and filled it with religious knick-knacks. And they charge money to visit it.

“A departure from the traditional church”
Reviewed 25 June 2012

A wonderful way to spend an hour out of the heat or rain while learning about how this church came into being and fits into the histroy of Budapest. A good time for reflection and also a good way to get away from the hustle of the city. Somewhat on the tourist, cheesy side but go with open eyes and heart and you will enjoy. Not expensive, make sure you use the audio phones.
