Near Danube river you have this symbolic tribute to all jews killed in the city. It makes you think about the atrocities that happened here. Take a picture to remember.

It is a beautiful memorial to the people who lost their lives in such a terrible and terrifying way.

We saw this site on a walking tour of Budapest. Hearing the history of why this sculpture exists was sad and moving. I highly recommend it as part of a history lesson on man's inhumanity to man. My photo isn't great, but you'll get the idea.

the message of this sculpture on the river.is simple. It's a contrast to the big and imposing scultures. You're left with an eerie poignancy, a reminder of the ways in which destroy and hurt one another.

It was a beautiful day to walk along the Danube. I happened upon this memorial. Remarkable about what happened there, a stone’s throw from parliament, in view of an imposing cathedral, and the Citadel, and an extraordinary and beautiful city. Though my feet were sore from walking several miles today, it was quickly forgotten in reflecting on the pain and suffering that happened here. And nothing will impact you more than the sight of a small child’s shoes among the different styles, shapes, and kinds of shoes comprising the memorial. So moving. A must see.
