“Central location, modern style, good for a weekend stay”
Reviewed 20 August 2012

The hotel is quite modern. The rooms are clean and cozy. The bath particularly is worth mentioning as it has a very nice shower with a partially transparent glass wall. So you can see the bed while you are taking a the shower. The stuff is very friendly. The food is quite ok. The only thing to complain about are the wafer-thin walls. It is difficult to sleep longer than 10am in the morning because you can hear the stuff cleaning the rooms next to you as if they are in your room.

After such a bad experience in Hotel Eben I moved to this hotel. Rooms are small but nice and clean and for a few days it wasn't a problem. The reception staff are welcoming, friendly and polite. The rooms are reasonably priced, and the the location near the line metro number 2 line makes it easy. Very good experience overall.

My partner and I stayed at the Soho just for one night, in early June, having previously stayed at the Mercure Korona. I must admit that the Soho was a better experience. The hotel is small, but stylish and well designed. The lobby area is very welcoming when you arrive, and the rooms, while on the petite side, are funky and comfortable.

The reception staff were welcoming, spoke very good English, and were entirely polite. The breakfast selection is also worth noting because of the wide range of food on offer.

All in all I am very glad that I booked into this hotel. It was reasonably priced, centrally located and near to a metro station, and an overall enjoyable experience. If I ever visit Budapest again I would definitely stay here.

Returned after 1 week on 21st July 2012.
Firstly the bad stuff even though it’s a bit tricky to find too much wrong.
The pillows could have been thicker. The choice of tea with breakfast was large in variety but poor unless you are a fan of fruity tea. I recommend that you take some to suit yourself. The breakfast hot water/coffee dispensers were slow and the toaster was even slower. However, the cereals, European breakfast, scrambled eggs, meats and fruits were rather good
A kettle in the room would have been nice.
Yes the double en suite room was a tad small but they were well equipped (apart from the kettle).
The good stuff. The hotel was spotlessly clean, its location was great, you could walk to everywhere, all the staff were excellent, the shower was superb, the room was quiet, the air conditioning was quiet. We loved it.

My first visit to Budapest and was very happy with the location of the hotel. Staff was friendly. Rooms was shockingly small but for a few days it wasn't a problem. Breakfast was very disappointing with a small selection and no almost no fruit (fried courgette, carrots. potato chunks with sausage). Apart from that would stay there again. Clean, friendly, good location. Worth recommending if you prefer to go out for breakfast.....

Just returned having stayed here for 3 nights.
Front desk staff - VERY helpful and friendly
Hotel - New, modern, fresh and very clean,
Bedroom - COMPACT!! Very Small, But ok for a few days.
Bathroom - Really Really COMPACT.
Air Conditioning - FANTASTIC
Breakfast .. mmmm, a bit basic - enjoyed but would not like it for a week.
Location ... In our opinion it was excellant .. we got the 72 hr travel card from the underground metro station (just around the corner) trams and trolleys bus all 2 min walk away.
It certainly was alot cheaper drinking and eating in this area, but maybe not as pleasing to look at compared to down by the river and square, saying that every time you turn a corner in Budapest there is always something that catchs your eye.
We did eat at a lovely restaurant just round the corner 'Bock Bistro' .. we had to book via. e.mail first because it gets booked up weeks in advance.- a true Hungarian experience, mail me. if you would like details.
The Hotel will give you a map when you check in - on one of the corners there is a very small coupon for Duno corsa boat rides, one person goes on the trip for free. (the boat company is by the middle bridge - by the merriot hotel) also the there is a boat next to it on the river that is called columbo pub - brilliant for views at night.
New york Cafe is opposite - and that is must, stunning inside!
Already planning on coming back - Have loved our time/stay here.
