After reading some of the criticisms of the buffet breakfast, we were pleasantly surprised on the first morning to find a adequate selection of cold meats and cheeses, muesli, tinned peaches, fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries and 4 hot food items (eggs, French bread, ratatouille and bacon – although this varied some days). The hotel is modern and tidy. Our room was well cleaned each day and (taking advice from previous visitors about asking for a rear facing room) quiet. The location is perfectly fine for touring the city being about a 10 minute walk from the nearest tube station. Overall a good value choice for visiting this wonderful city - recommended.

The location of the hotel was OK, a few minutes walk from the metro station. The room and bathroom were clean and nice. There is a spa area on the top of the hotel with a pool and sauna with a great view over the city. The breakfast was good and we were very happy with the service at the hotel. I would definately stay there again!

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while visited winter Budapest. Quite good 4 stars hotel, with very up-to-date rooms.
Reception is very friendly both days and nights, always willing to help and give different advices about Budapest and hotel facilities. Check-in within 1 minute, no problem at all.
Rooms are spacious enough, beds are really comfortable for Budapest. New flat TV, modern bedroom. Small refridgerator which is must in Budapest with its cheap and delicious wines.
SPA facilities on the top flour are free of charge. Sauna is modern and efficient, pool is spacious. View from the SPA area is absolutely fabulous!
Free Wifi seems to be available only in corridors, but reception can always supply you with LAN cable for free very fast internet.
Breakfast was quite simple but I never experienced something else in Budapest so absolutely OK.
Location is almost perfect, near to Moszkva ter which is transport hub for Buda area. Not far to anything.

Stayed at the Belvedere Hotel for 10 days in April.
The Hotel is very clean and new. The only drawback is the Breakfasts, they are somewhat quite boring. If there is one thing that this Hotel can improve on is the food for their breakfasts. There is nothing that is very appealing or tasty. I wish they could look else where for ideas on trying to improve on their menus. The Farmers Market is just down the road, next to the Mummut Mall, every day starting around 6am until around 2pm. If some of the management could go to the Farmers Market and get fresh fruit, veggies, etc. it may be helpful in their assortment of fruits/veggies.
In the mall there is a grocery store for you to purchase whatever you like. Bring your own grocery bags, as they charge you for one of theirs. Lots of wines to choose from as well as breads, pastries, drinks. Keep in mind the mall closes at 9pm, although most corner stores are open later.
The hotel reception staff is exceptionally helpful and quite knowledgeable in helping you out with your plans. I could comment on that perhaps the desk could give you more information on how to walk places, where to go, what to see.
The rooms are very spacious, clean and with their little kitchenette you could prepare small meals yourself. Please bring a wine opener, as the rooms do not have one.
The balcony which to sit out is very comfortable and quiet. You do hear sirens going often, but it really isn't that bad. The train station is also close by to ride, also Buda Castle is within walking distance.
One thing that really annoyed us was the cyclists that ride on the sidewalks. They are very inconsiderate and ride past you very fast and don't usually stay in their lane. They also ride across the bridges while you walk, so be careful as they come up behind you quietly and swerve by you to conintue on.
There is a language barrier with most elderly folk, so be prepared to know where you want to go before you ask them. Also remember to validate your ticket stub before entering the train station, as there is a hefty fine if you don't have this done. The ticket agents do not tell you this either. The HEV has their ticket validator right on the train, so you need to use it while entering. Place ticket in the slot, sort of open the top and close it gently and your ticket will be punched.
If you wish to board a train to go elsewhere, be sure you know which train to use, as at the train station it can be confusing and english is not their first language.
The historic sites are worth seeing.
We did see the Holocaust Museum, and will comment that it could use more interesting photos, also the bathrooms were not very clean. Most other museums are worth seeing. Thoroughly enjoyed seeing The Hospital in the Rock, very interesting.
Take change with you to use the public washrooms as they charge for their use.
Food is good, some better than others. Lots of Goose Liver served as well as pork products. Chicken usually done with chicken thighs, unless it states chicken breast.
Good wines as well.

A three night stay in a comfortable twin-bedded room with balcony on the sixth floor overlooking a public park.
The room also overlooked a busy roadway, including an urban railway system and, although the room had double-glazing and an exterior roll down shutter, traffic noise was quite audible.
Equally, during the three nights of my stay, there seemed a lot of emergency vehicle activity; at least judging be the frequency of the sirens!
So, for very light sleepers it may be advisable to ask for a room at the rear of the hotel.
Car-parking/garaging at the hotel seemed very good and available at ground floor level; the garage interior was visible through a glass door from reception.
Overall, the room was well equipped and included a large, wall mounted flat-panel tv screen with English, French and German basic channels. The bathroom, unusually, offered a choice of shower facility: wet-room style, or a hand-held, tap mounted unit.
The restaurant offers fairly basic meals and those taken in the evening appeared competently prepared but the standard was unexceptional and that may have accounted for a lack of fellow diners. The Hungarian house red is palatable, as are the restaurant prices with a three-course, wine included meal costing c.£20/7,000 Forints
Breakfast is taken in the rear conservatory adjoining the dining-room and by way of a buffet catering for most tastes. The choice of drinks will satisfy most requirements.
Service was generally very good and certainly warm and friendly with all staff, for British visitors having at least some basic English to fluency at reception.
Access to, for example, the riverside is an easy walk of some fifteen minutes and the reward is a view of the parliament buildings on the opposite bank.
The urban railway has pick-up/get-off points almost outside the hotel and a day ticket for the system is c.£1/300 Forints.

We spent a pre xmas break at hotel belvedere and had a wonderful time, despite the snow! The hotel is modern decor, good size and comfortable rooms with flat screen tv. The breakfast was good, and the restaurant conservatory was really nice, especially with a couple inches of snow on the roof. All staff are friendly, speak good english and will answer any questions you may have. The hotel is on the main road but we had no problem with traffic noise. The hotel is in a great location, just a few minutes walk away from one of the main tram/metro stations, tickets are avialable from the machine or kiosk and are great value for 3 or 7 days of unlimited travel on trams, metro and bus. Also a few minutes walk is the Mammut shopping mall with plenty of shops and restaurants. Overall the hotel Belvedere is an excellent base to explore Budapest and I would thoroughly recommend it!

Very good, modern comfortable and convenient. Very well located in Buda. The best Hotel in my experience as price/quality suitable for business trip: quite, modern, free internet good assistance from the reception, a small but good wellness area. Wi fi internet is not available on all floor but you must just mention at the time of the reservation. In any event you can get an internet cable from the front desk and being directly connected to the internbet via cable.
