Old building which has taken a bit of damage over time. I was told by friend that the building operates as low budget dorms for students during term time and as a hostel by summer.
The hostel was in an ok area, easy to reach metro stations and down-town Pest very easily. Lots of restaurants, fast-food joints and smalls supermarkets in the area for your needs.
The ladies in reception live there and are very nice and helpful - Offered a partial refund for a night we had 6 in our 5 person dorm from them very apologetically.
Bathrooms and kitchens were basic but they did what was needed. Serious lack of plates and cutlery though. Saw the cleaner regularly and the bathrooms were well stocked with toilet paper etc.
I had stayed with a friend in a 5 person dorm - this consisted of wardrobes, a sofa-bed, refrigerator and 4 desks underneath a raised bunk style area with 4 mattresses on
This bunk bed area felt rather wobbly at times and creaked and moved when anyone moved/rolled over.
The bunk bed also showed a great amount of cracks in the wood and the stairs used to get up and down from the beds was next to a large window that needed to be open in the stifling heat, especially without air-conditioning.
Nice balcony style areas to sit and relax on the corner of each floor but certainly a lot of noise as guests and full-time student residents hang out on them and within the central courtyard. From what we could tell, it appeared that the smaller rooms (2 persons etc) mostly faced onto the courtyard when the bigger 5 person dorms had street views.
