This hotel is in a great location just off the bustling Szent Istvan Korut leading to Margaret Bridge & to the castle side (Buda) one way & the main city centre the other (Pest). The hotel is good value for money & the staff are very welcoming. The rooms are a good standard & have a very good powerful shower. The corridors do look a bit tired, but its not a big issue... The breakfast is okay, would benefit from another coffee machine. The bar is very nice & have a good selection of drinks - perfect for finishing a nice meal out.

Overall I would recommend this hotel & to enjoy this amazing city. We went on a free walking tour which are located in the Vomostagery square in the centre, which was great way to start your first day & they give you good tips to know - such as don't say thank you when giving the money at the restaurant/bar until you get your change back; then say thank you giving a tip. Else if you say thank you before hand they will keep all the money given & won't give you the change back. Also I would recommend going on a hop-on hop-off bus its a great way to see the city & learn some history & facts too. Also enjoy one of many thermal baths located in the city - its a great way to un-wind & all the locals do it (weekends are mixed, some baths have single sex days in the week - best to check on their website).

Have a great time as we did...!

stayed for 3 nights last week and was aprehensive as the hotel was such fantastic value for money , but all proved excelent great location really nice hotel and room very clean ,all staff very friendly and helpfull ,and a good buffet conteninatal breakfast , what a fantastic city loved it and made just right by our hotel stay , there was a bit of an issue with the bar running out of beer but think it may have been associated with a national holiday ?
of course if you want to prove you have stayed at the ritz or a suite in the whyn in vegas then you may look down your nose at this review but for a short break with great value for money this ticks all the boxes

Very good hotel, clean rooms, free wifi in the room, a lot of storage room and a good functioning shower. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choice. Only minus: capacity of coffee machine too small compared to amount of guests.
Located at the Pest side and near most of the important sights: river, parliament, museums, Margaret Island...
I would certainly recommend this hotel and ideally located for a city trip.

Not sure as to wether this was the same hotel that has some terrible reviews on this site,I stayed here last week and it is in the ideal position for sight-seeing being only five minutes walk from the Danube and Parliment Building.
Typical Continental style Breakfast,Bedrooms very good(Yes the carpets could do with cleaning or replacing),Staff very helpful. Did'nt find any mould around the grouting in the shower(Please don't be a Misery reporting this type of thing on this site-get a life!)
All in all a good hotel for a City Break.

Marmara Hotel excellently situated near Nyugati station, for rail transfers. There was a problem with the fixtures in my room when I checked in, but the hotel immediately transferred me to another room, which proved to be fine. Wifi worked faultlessly, Room was adequate and bathroom fine. The hotel is situated near restaurants, and I took dinner in an Italian restaurant close by; this was good value, excellent home-made food and very good service. Breakfast at the hotel was adequate.

Just returned from the marmara hotel. Found it to be of good standard rooms were clean and comfortable, yes there where some stains on the carpet but apart from these everywhere was spotless. Breakfast was good and plentiful with plenty of choice for a continental. Location was great only 5 minutes from the river and about ten minutes from parliament building. Would recommend this hotel, take no notice of the moaners it is ideal for a base when visiting Budapest.
