Having eaten at a number of restaurants in Budapest I now always eat in one restaurant everyday because it is the only restaurant where the food is consistently excellent. The local Italians in Budapest use it regularly too
Trattoria Mamma is very close to the Basilica which is a fantastic location for hanging out with a glass of wine after your meal on the summers evenings in Budapest.
They cook Meat fish and pastas. I usually go in and ask the staff to choose a main course for me, different every day, and they always choose well.
We are talking excellent top quality food at a reasonable price. My meal is usually a main course, glass of house wine, bottle of water and coffee and it usually costs about 8,000 Hungarian flor'ts.
