“Lovely place”
Reviewed 8 August 2013

Excellent hotel, clean, fresh, close to the city center. Staff spoke very good english and were very friendly! Rooms were modern and crean. I especially loved the architecture of the lobby. Breakfast was consistent with a lot of sweets and good coffee :)

Excellent location, near Gellert baths, Vaci Utca (main shopping street), +/- 20 min walking to the Hungarian Parliament, Elizabeth bridge, +/- 30 min walking to the Margaret island.
The Hotel was clean and quiet. The breakfast was good and the staff was very helpful. Excellent for the price. I totally recommend it.

Very nice hotel in the centre of Budapest, it’s just a few minutes walk from Vaci Utca and Astoria metro station. Very convenient if you don’t want to take the underground late at night, the neighborhood felt very safe. The hotel itself is modern, clean and staff was very kind and ready to respond to all your needs, making reservations for tours, restaurants and everything you could possibily need. They let us to leave the luggage there for free the day we were leaving. Rooms were very spacious and breakfast was vary, whatever are your tastes, you’re going to find something to eat. The soundproof of the room is excellent, I didn’t hear a thing. The elevator is operated with the key of your room, I’m not particularly paranoic, but this is an additional safety feature that someone might like. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

This hotel is located perfectly - close to shops, restaurants, Metros, the river... It's made a perfect base for exploring Budapest.

The room is decently sized and nicely furnished, although there are no extra facilities like a tea maker. It is also very quiet with no noise from outside (we overlooked the courtyard) and very little from inside. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Would stay here again.

The hotel is quite new and up to all the standards I would expect. The rooms are nice, the hotel is clean and the breakfast has a good selection. The cleaning was very efficient: on many days, the room was cleaned already while we were having breakfast. On one day, we left the do not disturb sign on the door when we left for breakfast, but the maid was on the hallway and asked, if she could clean the room despite of the sign.

The location is very convenient. Located in the center of Pest, the main pedestrian street Váci utca is very close, and the area is full of restaurants (ranging anything from kebab stalls to fine dining) and shops (including grocery stores).

Even though the distances in Budapest are not very long, we bought the (inexpensive) public transport passes to avoid walking during the hot summer days. The metro stations for metro line 2 (station Astoria) and metro line 3 (station Ferenciek tere) are only a few hundred meters away and there are a number of buses and also two trams (47 and 49) going near the hotel, so all of the major sights can be reached easily by public transport (e.g. the Castle Hill and City Park both in about 20 minutes).

Our room was facing the inner yard of the hotel, so our view was only to the opposite wall, but it also made the room very quiet. We heard hardly anything from outside the room during our stay.

The good: The location for seeing the sites is perfect. It's central to just about everything! A few blocks in one direction and your strolling along the Danube, or walking the main shopping street, or catching the metro and the "hop on, hop off" buses. We couldn't have been happier with its placement.

The room were well kept and laid out. We had a sliding door between the bathroom/entry hallway and the sleeping area ...which is great if you have an early riser who wants to shower without lighting up the whole room and disturbing those still sleeping.

It was quiet. We were street side and weren't disturbed by any noises (either from the street or outer rooms).

The room attendent kept everything tidy and was happy to accommodate early cleaning times and fresh towel requests.

The front desk was great. They answered all questions, made recommendations, arranged taxi service from the airport and to our departure train etc.. They couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating!

The only bad thing I could say is there isn't a coffee/tea maker in the room - which you would expect at this level. Pretty disappointing.
