“Not Bad, but expensive breakfast”
Reviewed 13 July 2012

Read a few dodgy reviews on this hotel but all in all its a good hotel for comfort and location, just dont have a drink at the bar as its very expensive compared to other bars nearby. Breakfast also very expensive if you havent booked it in advance. room was nice, bed was really comfortable, bathroom clean...Location is good, perfect city for walking around...Staff i found friendly too , so apart from expensive bar and breakfast this hotel is perfect..

I was stolen in the lobby of this hotel; I was sitting in a table in the bar, with three more persons, and the bag was just next to me. I did not see anybody near us, but, according to the manager (we can not see the images of the security camera) the thief entered the lobby and took my bag. The manager could not say how it happened because the securtity cameras did not tape all the thiefs action. The hotel did not offered any kind od compensation, because it is a public area.

Due to business I stayed at this hotel. The rooms are quite huge, the breakfast is fantastic, the personal are very friendly. Next to the hotel is the underground station. Walking distance to Vaci utca is 15 minutes. Nice service - you can put the taxi bills to your room. At the lobby you have free WIFI

I have stayed in this hotel in a romantic week-end that I had with my husband. I can tell you that the location is great, very close to the metro station, in the city center. The room we had was very clean, with a comfortable bed and. I really liked its modern look. The staff was very nice and helpful. But the most impressive thing was that we had a glass wall thru which we could see the central square. We had a perfect week-end

We stayed in a double room. No complaints. The staff was friendly. We will use it again.
The metro station is just in front of the hotel. There is a grocery shop and exchange office across the street, a small shopping center within the hotel. Everything you need is close by. Even one of the hop on hop off tours stops nearby. And it's a 10-15 min walk, worth taking, to the city center near Vatci street and Deak Ferenc square.

For a 4 star hotel they need to work on some details. There was no shoe shine and other complimentary stuff that usually welcomes you in a room. The minibar was empty. The TV channel selection was quite poor (CNN, BBC, a few local channels, a few German channels and that's it). Not that I am complaining, this is just details they might consider.

Minus:
- check in starts at 15:00; they would still charge you for an "early check-in" at 14:00 AND still make you wait 10-15 minutes, as the room is not ready yet !!! Amazing! What are they charging for, then...?!
- no WiFi in the rooms, and only payed cable internet
- location is not very good
- very high prices for all the "extras": internet, mini bar, etc.

Plus:
- everything that one would expect from the Courtyard: very clean, spacious room and bathroom, comfortable bed, friendly stuff, etc.

The hotel Courtyard by Marriott was a very nice surprise. I got a nice deal through Booking.com and chose it also for the central location and some positive reviews. The room was very clean, comfortable bed and, as I was on the 3rd floor I had a nice view of Blaha Lujza square. Staff very helpful and speaking a more than good English. There's a safe in the room in which a 14" noteboook can fit, I had my wish to have my room not cleaned respected, so I had no real problems with safety. The things I wasn't happy about were the fact of having to ask for some of the amenities at the reception desk (they should be already available in the bathroom) and the expensive breakfast and internet (actually I've used internet in the lobby and was satisfied with the speed of the connection). For these, good alternatives are available outside - cafes, bakeries and the shopping centre beside the hotel building. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience in this hotel!! :-)
