“Nice caff with a dodgy museum attached”
Reviewed 5 May 2013

I can only agree with others that this is not really a museum, just a random collection of objects and furniture crammed into an Art Nouveau house.

The house is best appreciated from the outside as there is not much art nouveau in the fabric apart from a cornice. It is so crowded it is hard to read the building which I think has been chopped around anyway. The collection itself has some interesting pieces though some are just fin-de-siecle in my book rather than art nouveau.

So if you want to learn about art nouveau you will be disappointed. If you already know a bit and enjoy a rummage it’s quite fun – and not particularly expensive.

“nice museum”
Reviewed 3 May 2013

This museum was a nice surprise, as we went for the café (nice pies) and found there was a museum too. The museum consists of two floors of jugendstil / szecessions furniture and things. All very beautiful!!

“Brilliant collection”
Reviewed 27 December 2012

Although quite small this collection was a paradise for Art Nouveau enthusiasts like us. Well worth a visit to see so many beautiful things gathered together. The outside of the museum is grat too.

“Museum okayish, just go straight to the coffee corner”
Reviewed 19 December 2012

I was really looking forward to visiting this museum, got a discount with the Budapest card, but... it was still quite expensive for whats offered: it looks like just a big art nouveau store.. lots of furniture and just... ehm... stuff. No signs, no information, no explanation, nothing!
Of course the stuff is nice, but that is something you can see from the coffee corner as well, while enjoying a slice of cake and a nice cup of java! You will probably not feel ripped of than (coffee and cake is reasonably priced) and will leave with a nice feeling from the lovely atmosphere.
They should not be allowed to call themselves a museum... maybe 'gallery'or something like that?

“Go here for coffee, not for the museum”
Reviewed 8 December 2012

The house is wonderful, but the museum sucks and the admission fee is outrageous, compared to other REAL museums in Budapest. It's an antique shop, not a museum - no information, no curating, no particular arrangement of the items, it's just loads of stuff crammed in a couple of rooms with bad lighting. So visit the house, and have some coffee and a pastry in the beautiful cafe.
