“City centre, good food, expensive”
Reviewed 22 November 2013

Borkonyha WineKitchen 24,400 HUF (2 people, 2 courses with wine)

* Szilvasvaradi trout with sun-dried tomatoes and shallots in red wine 2,250 HUF
* Crispy duck liver with apple in vanilla and beetroot sauce 3,350 HUF

* Mangalica variations 3,750 HUF
* Ribeye Steak 6,750 HUF

* St Andreas wine 5,520 HUF

* Latte 490 HUF

Fairly busy around 6.30pm on a Monday night but they accommodated us even though we hadn't booked. The restaurant has a high ceiling which gives it rather difficult acoustic so conversation is a little difficult

Waiters attentive and friendly, food excellent but expensive

“A memorable evening”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

The service, the food and wine were excellent. The ambience was friendly and relaxed while still being classy. The Hungarian wines suggested by the staff were a true surprise. They were equal to other European wines. We had a lovely evening. I highly recommend this restaurant.

“excellent collection of wine, good food and excellent service”
Reviewed 12 November 2013

Excellent collection of wine and all can be ordered by the glass. Service is excellent. This included the waiter explaining in details all the chef's recommendations and today's menu on top of the usual printed one on the chalk board. Food is excellent. My only comment was that the goose gizzard wasn't what I expected. It was cooked to very soft instead of the usual crunchy texture. Otherwise, I would have given it a 5.

“A memorable evening”
Reviewed 9 November 2013

Popped in for dinner with partner and friends. The food was excellent, the wine fantastic and the service to match. You will definitely have a great time. Great venue for friends to relax together and superb for a romantic couples evening.

We were there for the during the Grand Prix so there may have been more outdoor drinking setups to cater for the additional tourists. However, 100m down the road from this restaurant was a large town square type of thing with a host of makeshift bars and a DJ. So having had a wonderful meal, we wandered over to have a dance.

Fantastic evening.
