Wonderful restaurant. Best dinner we've had in Budapest. Everything was perfect and you get a 3 course dinner with a bottle of wine at a 1 star Michelin restaurant for 75-100€ per couple!

“Very Nice Evening and Meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2014

Based on a recommendation of our B&B host, reservations we secured on a Monday evening. The buildout reminded us of a Napa, CA restaurant style. Our waiter was very efficient and we dined in an unrushed environment. We had the pumpkin soup and duck liver appetizers and they were both excellent. I had the rabbit and my wife had the salmon for dinner. Both were prepared to our liking. The desserts took some creativity and were excellent as well. We enjoyed our dinner before a river cruise.

“Richard and Beth H. "Outstanding"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2014

I would rank Borkonyha Winekitchen in the top three restaurants in Europe. The Fois Gras appetizer was perfectly seared with a well-balanced puree of fresh pea and the Guiney Hen was tender with just the right amount of seasoning. Our main course Chicken rivaled that of Marcel’s restaurant in Washington. D.C., tender and rolled in a transparent, unassuming wrap of bacon. The wines were pleasant with appropriate selections made at the recommendation of our sommelier. The service was precise, attentive and knowledgeable which made us feel unrushed, making for an enjoyable dinner in Budapest. Michelin should consider adding another star!

“Michelin star??? Not even one”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014 via mobile

Very disappointed in our dinner here mostly because of the amateurish service. Couldn't find our reservation until we showed a copy of the e-mail confirmation. Asparagus soup and duck liver were very good. Main course of perch pike and venison although it was not cooked as ordered were delicious. Pours of wine were small and my husband's third pour of white wine was a totally different wine. Dessert selection was not sufficient. We have dined at many Michelin starred restaurants and this one is undeserving of its star.
