“Fantastic hotel”
Reviewed 22 March 2014

We stayed here from Tuesday 18th-Sat 22nd march, for my birthday as a group of 3. The hotel were unbelievable efficient. As we'd booked a room for 3, they had forgotten to put up the extra bed. When we went to enquire if we needed to unfold it from a wardrobe or something similar, the receptionist made a phone call to housekeeping who descended on the room like a "swat team, equipped with the bed, duvets, pillows etc n put an extra bed in in about 5 mins! The breakfast was excellent n the staff were really knowledgable n helpful. Right in the middle of town too. Would definaty go back as Budapest was great too

Great hotel situated right in the heart of the city. The staff are amazing and welling to recommend places to go and will go out of their way to please.

Only downside is the rooms are quite small, very well equipped but small.

Would definitely recommend this hotel

My husband and I booked four nights at Bohem Art Hotel to celebrate our 10-year anniversary; we booked a sweetheart room and were definitely not disappointed upon arrival - the whole place oozes hip charm and the staff are all incredibly friendly and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast service was amazing; most choice we've come across at a city hotel!

Couple of notes for fellow travellers - if you plan on spending some down time in your hotel room chilling out, bring a USB stick with films/TV - there are only two English channels and they are both news broadcasters; but the TVs do have a USB port on them, which is a great touch.

Also, if you like fresh air be sure to check where your room is; we backed onto a street where there was A LOT of noise late at night.

Apart from those two things I can't really fault our stay. Highly recommended as an effortlessly cool base from which to explore Budapest.

This is a great boutique hotel, which was perfect for our group of four. The location is fantastic, within walking distance of most places, and right beside the Danube. The main going-out area was less than a ten-minute walk away, so it's ideal for exploring all the great ruin bars Budapest has to offer. As other reviewers stated, we booked directly through the hotel's website and got a fantastic deal, including lower rates, a free (one-way) airport transfer and a welcome cocktail, as well as lots of restaurant tips, some of which we tried and loved. The breakfast is the main event here, a fantastic buffet of fresh hot and cold food, plus fresh orange juice, great coffee, and of course the champagne! My only bugbear was the temperature of the room, it was far too hot, and adjusting the air-con made no real difference, so we had to leave the window wide open at night, which did the trick. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a funky hotel at great value.

Room Tip: Room 408 was facing away from the street, so there was no external noise at night.

This was an excellent hotel to stay in as two first time visitors to Budapest.

We booked direct through the hotel website to get the free airport transfer (very useful) and the free drinks tokens (very generous!).

Hotel transfer went smoothly and on arrival staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Our room on floor 2 was a little compact as other travellers have mentioned but this wasn't a problem for us at all. The bathroom was very nice and everything was spotlessly clean. Free wifi is always a plus as well.

As others have said the breakfast really is exceptional, and we also appreciated that it is served until 12 at the weekend. It's also worth checking out the cocktails at the hotel bar which are very well made and reasonably priced.

Throughout the weekend staff were really helpful in making 2 restaurant reservations for us. We went to 2 recommended by Martin in an email before we arrived (Borsso Bistro and Gepard) and both were brilliant recommendations.

Location is also very good-just a few minutes from the Central Market, seconds from the Danube and a pleasant walk along the river to other parts of Pest. We actually walked everywhere over the weekend and didn't use transport as the hotel was conveniently located.

Overall I'd highly recommend this hotel especially for couples (as most guests seemed to be there in pairs)-thank you to all the staff who made it a great stay for my birthday weekend.

I booked a room in this hotel without consulting very much my wife (she was busy) - and she was absolutely happy with my choice, and surprised. Hip suite was quite hip ; - ). We came home after 5 nights in this hotel.

Location was perfect for our needs. Many important places within walking distance and the basic tram lines (like No 2) are close - and the metro is not far away. Part of the guest were tourists and obviously many had some work related stay in Budapest. Good hotel for both.

The bar was relaxing - good for a couple of beers after a long day as a tourist, no food.

No street noise , no disturbing disco music or noisy guests - sleep quality was great. And the breakfast room and breakfast were very nice. A good start for a day.
Interiors can be called artistic and the design is very modern. ( check the images before you book - if you like old original furniture, 19th century antiquities and candeliers you should check other options ) . We enjoyed our stay and we'll come back !

Room Tip: If you do not like small rooms for two persons , a small suite can be a good idea and it was not too...

This is an excellent boutique hotel in a perfect location. My wife and I stayed here a few weeks ago. It is close to the Duna (Danube River) and Freedom Bridge, which are breathtaking in and of themselves. Hotel is on a small side street called Molnar Utca. Parking is very limited, but you do not need a car in Budapest. Hotel is less than 3 minute walk from public transportation (metro, tram, and buses). One of the great shopping streets (Vaci utca) is one block away. English-speaking staff who are very knowledgable about tourist attractions and events. They were very helpful and would make reservations for us as well as order taxis at night--less than 10 minute wait every time for taxi to arrive.

They offer complimentary transfer from the airport to the hotel and other discounts if you book directly on their website, which I highly recommend. As noted in the other reviews, the free breakfast is INCREDIBLE! Wide selection of breads, pastries, eggs, fresh fruit, meats, vegetables, etc. This was a huge perk, and possibly one of the best I have had while traveling. The rooms are small, but nicely decorated. Bathrooms have modern finishes and amenities. Linens were clean and very comfortable; much closer to American standards rather than traditional European hotels.

I would definitely recommend Bohem Art to anyone visiting Budapest, and we will be staying there again on our next trip! A+ overall
