WOW - this is all that I can say about this hotel. Everything was good. One down-side which is a personal thing really was that all the rooms had wooden floors so you can hear people thumping about but overall it didnt really ruin the experience as you are not in the room all the time (even though I would have liked to have been). The bathroom is heaven. Monsoon shower...dont need to say anymore. Lovely modern bath which does take a bit to fill. Lovely toiletries too and lots of towels, a bathrobe each and slippers! The double bed was actually 2 singles but was very comfy and I went to sleep with no hassles. Electric blinds too. Didnt use the coffee machine but I'm sure it was good. A well stocked mini bar with 5 star prices. the hotel is very well located close to very good restaurants, bars and clubs and about a 5 min walk from the Basillica. Remember there is a 4% tax on the hotel which was charged at the end of the stay. The staff are very friendly and even booked a restaurant for us on the first night. Modern lifts which were confusing to go up in but not coming down in! Didnt have breakfast as seemed too expensive. We usually grabbed a pastry from a local shop. Good enough to go onto lunchtime. Would definitely stay here again. room was cleaned every day..even without asking.

Room Tip: we had a side room but one that looks over the park would be better. maybe suggest a top floor due t...

We went to Budapest to romantic gettaway for our anniversary day. And it was the right place to go!

Hotel was at a very nice location. Great staff too! We didn´d have time to go to the spa but I guess it was quite small. We changed the room after one night because we didn´t have bath tube at first. Rooms were clean and personnally decorated.

Only disappointment was hotel´s restaurant. Breakfast was amazing but dinner not so. We ordered fish as main course and it came with french fries. I have never seen a 5 start hotel´s restaurant serving french fries. Antipastis were nice and desserts as well. But price was very high and and quality only average compared to that.

Still I would highly recommend this hotel. It is an experience, not an average hotel, like a boutique hotel!

The staff were extrememly friendly and helpful. The decor of the hotel in general and especially the rooms was unique and interesting as well as comfortable and inviting. WONDERFUL showers! Being right next to the park and on the edge of the local shopping and dining center made the location of this hotel the best of both worlds.

From the moment we landed in Budapest the iberostar grand made sure we were looked after. They had organised a taxi to pick us up and take us direct to the hotel. We were greeted from the car by a member of staff who carried our bags and showed us to the check in desk whilst serving us with a chilled orange juice and water, just what you need after a early flight.

We were shown the room which was an upgrade to the top floor(507)and the room and views were stunning !!! The beds were very comfy and the bathroom was amazing the bath was perfectly positioned to watch the tv and the shower was perfect after a long day of sightseeing. The spa on the basement floor was a delight, it's a simple hot tub, steam room and sauna, but it's just what you need after walking around the city. They also give you robes and slippers to wear down there.

We found the hotel was ideally positioned with a 10 minute walk to the famous chair bridge and the river Danube, it is also a 5 minute walk to the church square of Basilica St Stephen Ehere there are lovely restraints and a little coffe shop which does an amazing hot chocolate.

We walked all around the city wi a little help from the map you get from the hotel and a guide booked we bought from amazon. I would highly recommend anyone looking at going to Budapest to stay at the iberostar grand and to walk around the city as much as you can. We nearly walked 25 miles across a 3 day break but you get to see so much more of this beautiful city.

Nothing was an issue for the hotel, we had tea and dessert on our first night in the bar overlooking the square. This hotel is fab and once you stay you will just want to go back!!!!

We didn't have breakfast as we ate locally but the breakfast did look nice

Room Tip: Ask for one facing the water fountain in the square and ask for floor 5 which is the top floor you g...

Hotel was excellently located in one of the main areas of central city Budapest and was extremely clean with a lovely spa. Rooms were strangely decorated but very comfortable and well appointed. This hotel did not stand up to a 5* standard in terms of service as twice the turndown service was completely forgotten, coffee machine was never refilled and staff, while helpful never went above and beyond. Overall, if the price was right I would stay again but otherwise I would look elsewhere for my next trip.

My girlfriend and i visited budapest for 4 days 3 nights from the 10th of october 2012 and stayed at the Iberostar budapest and it was wonderful.

I'll start with the journey first for a little bit of travel advice for first timers (If the flights are still arriving at terminal 2 this may be handy). We jumped on the 200E bus which is located out the front doors of the airport and purchased two tickets from the driver costing about £1.20 each to the line 3 metro line (kobanya-kipest), which took about 15mins. We didnt have any tickets but they were easy to find in the shopping mall where the bus stops. Two tickets to the Arany Janos utca metro stop costed about £1 each and the journey took about 20-25mins. When you get off the metro the hotel is less than a 5 minute walk away with no turns and easily identified by the fountains at the front. There are obviously other methods of getting to the hotel but we found this extremely cheap and straight forward. Don't be put off by the bus/train/walk journey and if you have a litle tourist map (we picked one up for free in the lougage collection point at the airport) its well easy to work out. And just do the reverse journey going home!!

OMG i havent even mentioned the hotel yet!

On arrival we were offered free drinks and checked in, took about 5mins and the staff were soo polite and helpful. They answered all our questions and more. They upgraded us for free, touch! The room, oh the room, more of an apartment well over our budget to be honest, i felt like an over paid footballer and my girlfriend frlt like a WAG! Huge bathroom, huge bedroom (oh the bed, what a bed), amazing views, great lighting, plenty of swag chairs, sofa's and....areas to dump clothes and stuff. Coffee machine is a naughty bonus. Felt incredibly guilty making a mess!

Me and my girlfriend love doing mini breaks in europe and budapest was probably the last major city off our tick list, Its the best hotel ive ever stayed in in europe for sure, by a mile!! I cant recommend it enough.

Location is perfect, was tempted to get a budapest card for three days but only used the public transport getting to and from the airport so we are really glad we never got them. In our eyes everything worth seeing was easily walkable.

One down point, we were in budapest for 2 half days and 2 full days, the room was so great we seriously struggled to leave the room and see the city and the bed was so comfy and big, as soon as we got in we got lost and never saw each other again till morning!!!

It has a spa and gym which were good too. We didnt do breakfast, so cant comment on it to be honest.

Overall Loved it!

Room Tip: we stayed in room 301. great views, great room.
