“Very nice hotel!”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

Had a really pleasant stay at this hotel. Stayed for two nights and have nothing really to complain about.

The room was clean and nice. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome and were very helpful with any questions that we had.

Perfect location for a city weekend since it's within walking distance to many of the big sights in the city. Plenty of good restaurants, bars and coffee shops nearby. The room was quiet though and we didn't hear any noises from the street.

Very happy with our stay!

This wonderful hotel is situated in an excellent location in a quieter area of Budapest but within a short walking distance of the river, Parliament Building and many restaurants.
We were offered refreshments on our arrival, a very nice touch, given a tourist information welcome pack and shown to our rooms. The room had everything, comfortable bed, bathrobes and slippers, electric blinds, very spacious and clean. The bathroom was ultra modern, bath and a fantastic rainforest shower.

All the hotel staff were exceptional, very helpful, friendly and nothing was too much trouble, when asking for additional coffee for the room, it was there within minutes.

Good value and would definitely, definitely return.

Room Tip: Overlooking the square, great view from 4th floor.

Amazing experience!

Perfect location, walking distance from the main touristic attractions, and a very happening area, close to all the restaurants and bars.

Wow, what a hotel, the staff were amazing, the rooms were stunning, the service well and truly above and beyond. Welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine, information on Budapest, recommendations for restaurants.
Couldn't fault a thing. We have just completed a 7 week holiday and this was a stand out hotel, would highly recommend it

Stayed at Iberostar Budapest for 3 nights based on TripAdvisor reviews, and what a wonderful Hotel. The hotel is just beautiful, spotless, very modern (almost too modern) and perfect location while staying in Budapest. Hundreds of restaurants, shops, ATM's etc... in the area. The room was just beautiful & ultra modern, the beds comfortable. There were a few "quirks" that made me irritated. First, the front desk staff seemed a tad "mechanical" and didn't offer more than 2 words upon checking in. Second, since the hotel is so sleek & modern, they should explain the use of the card to use the elevator and other areas of the property. We had to go back to front desk to actually ask on how to use the elevator & get to our room. Third, the WiFi is a joke! They give you a code, but it's useless. My iPhone 5S wouldn't recognize nor keep me "logged in"(it was the WiFi system, not my phone). I called the front desk, & they referred me to the WiFi IT department and I had to talk to them and figure it out myself! I couldn't believe it. After all that, I still could not use my phone, iPad etc.... It was beyond frustrating. Finally, our God send employee: Sandor, came to the rescue. He took my phone and "figured" it out for me and then it was fine to use! But, every time we left the property & returned, we had to sign-in and put in the password....again...on both devices, it was just annoying. For such a high tech hotel, something as simple as this WiFi, needs to be improved. It just left me SO irritated. Again, I have to give a HUGE thank you to Sandor, he helped with the phones, called us a taxi, explained other things about the hotel and surroundings. Iberostar Budapest is truly lucky to have such a helpful, professional and friendly employee working for them! He just went out of his way to help us, it was refreshing. Overall, the Hotel is a great choice while staying in Budapest!

Dear Guest,

We first would like to thank you for choosing our IBEROSTAR Grand Hotel Budapest for your visit to Hungary and for the time you took out of your day to share your feedback on your overall experience among us; at IBEROSTAR we realize that there is always room for improvement and feedback is crucial in this process so we thank you for your review.

We are, however, sorry to hear that you encountered some issues with the technology in our hotel, so please rest assured that we will look into this to see how we can best prevent them from happening again.

At the time of Check-in our reception team gives general information to all new guests and handles a welcome letter where all the relevant information is reported including the use of the electronic card for the opening of the room door and the use of the elevator which for security reasons is operational with a hotel room card only.

Moreover we took good note of your comments related to the difficulties you encountered with our Wi Fi connection, as you well say, your US smartphone had to be configured to be able to access our European internet provider; we encourage you for future occasions to contact your company’s smartphone before travelling abroad in order to avoid these irritating setbacks to happen in the future.

On the other hand, we thank you for pointing out the attentiveness and professionalism of our employee Sandor we will not fail to congratulate him on your behalf for his contribution to your wellbeing whilst staying among us.

Last but not least we are delighted to read your satisfaction with the beauty and cleanliness of our luxury boutique hotel that is designed to make our guests ‘stay as pleasant as possible and located within easy walking distance to the many points of interest of the lively city of Budapest.

Once more, thank you for making us your choice hotel when visiting the area; we hope that you had a pleasant journey back home and remain at your entire disposal through our call center to help you choose your next IBEROSTAR destination among more than 100 hotels in the most beautiful destinations worldwide.

Kindest Regards,

Unbeatable location - lots of bars/restaurants in the area, and close to metro station and the Danube. Room was comfortable and modern, and the beds were terrific. Service by staff was professional and pleasant. Wi-Fi was, as a previous post stated, sketchy at best - had to log in every time...This was a major pain in the butt. Concerts in the park didn't bother us at all - they stopped at 10pm. We heard no street noise. Informing front desk of intended use of the spa, we ventured down only to find the door locked. Tried at reception to get the room key to work at spa was fruitless, they had to give me a "spa-use only" key. Very small spa, not really worth the effort.....
Reception offered no explanation on how to use the elevator ( hold your room key up to little black box till you see the green light ). Reception needs to better inform guest of features like this. Thank God for one employee - Sandor - who took a genuine interest in the guests, and helped us immensely. He is a terrific asset to the hotel!
