My wife and I had the pleasure of being Andreas' first customers after he took ownership of Butterfly Home in early September, and we were overwhelmed by the overall experience. Andreas is well tutored in B&B accommodation (by his parents), and he went out of his way to ensure our 3 night stay was enjoyable and memorable. As mentioned in previous reviews, nothing was too much trouble. Andreas was the perfect host, ensuring we knew some of his recommended eateries in the area, and ensured we knew our way around quite quickly. Our room on the 2nd floor was spacious and well presented. The bathroom was modern and spotless, and the breakfasts were varied and more than adequate to start the day. Thanks Andreas for an excellent stay.

We can't say enough good things about Butterfly Home! We stayed there for 3 nights. Andreas was extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating. As others have noted, the Butterfly is in a great location: very convenient for tram, bus and metro (do get a 72 hr. pass if you will be there for that period of time), lots of restaurants to choose from (Andreas has great suggestions) and easy to find. Breakfasts are ample and tasty. The rooms are clean, comfortable and attractive.

We stayed at the Butterfly Home for 6 nights and were so happy to have stayed there. We challenge you to find a friendlier and more sincere person than Andreas. Although Andreas and his wife Timea have only been the owner and Innkeeper of the Butterfly Home for about a month, Andreas has had a lifetime of B&B experience through Andreas's parents.
We arrived by train from Vienna to Budapest Kaleti and took a taxi to Butterfly Home where Andreas met our taxi, let us settle in, and then gave us a tour of the neighborhood. We learned about how to walk to the city center of Pest or take a tram and/or metro, find a close ATM, and nearby restaurants.
Thanks to Andreas, our room was updated with 2 QUEEN sized beds:-) That was such a treat.
Each morning in the breakfast room we met other tourists to share highlights with. Our favorite highlight was the ballet Giselle at the Opera House. Andreas helped us to secure tickets for it.
Other highlights were the Free Walking Tours. We took the City Tour that included Buda and Pest, the Communist Tour, and the Jewish Tour. Also I would suggest The House of Terror, The market on Kalvin Square, the Hungarian National Museum and Cafe Kor on SAS uta, near St. Stephen's Basilica.
While walking, look up so you don't miss the awesome architecture, but look down too to see the smiling Hungarians so willing to speak english and give a helping hand.
Thank you Andreas and Timea for all the memories and hours of conversation we shared.

Room Tip: There are only 7 rooms so book early.

We really enjoyed our stay. The property could not be in a better location in Pest, walking distance to everything. Rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast was plentiful, and the owner was incredibly helpful throughout our stay, with great recommendations. Highly recommend!

After reading the reviews on Butterfly Home on arrival it met with all our expectations. On arrival Andras made us very welcome, as it was quite late and in need of some nourishment he gave us a few suggestions of some Restaurants were we could eat, and again we were not dissapointed. The following day he advised us of the various places we could visit, the distances between locations as to make the most of our individual days. My extra thanks is the Tickets he managed to get us for the Ballet Gizzel being shown on the Opera House which was superb. We would also like to thank Timea and her Sister.

Stayed here for 1 night. Thought I would just see a couple of attractions but then I met my host Andreas (hope I spelled it correctly). He came up with a time efficient way of covering a lot of ground during my 40 hours in Budapest. And restaurants too! Get ready to loosen your belt. This little family-run B&B is the real deal: I stayed in a huge room that was quiet and spotless; breakfast was yummy (extra points for the homemade jams!), and Andreas' wife is quite the barista (cappuccino in almost under 1 minute). Would definitely stay here again.

The Butterfly is a good place to stay on a quiet pedestrian street just around the corner from downtown Pest. We stayed for one night in early September; our other accomodation could not offer an additional night, so they called Andras and he gave us a deal. He has long experience with B&B's and just recently bought the Butterfly. It's not frilly on the inside, but the rooms are spacious and clean, the breakfast is substantial, and Andras is helpful; his English is natural. If you don't already know Budapest or have a map in hand, it could be difficult to find the place; if you're just arriving in town, take a taxi from the airport. While I have another first choice (run by Andras's parents), I'd certainly stay at the Butterfly again.
