I wish I could stay here all my life, that's how beautiful this place really is! Be sure to have a visit - it is located above the Alexandra book store. So, so, so beautiful!

“Absolute Treasure of a find ..............”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

From the outside this bookstore looks fairly regular albeit it is on the beautiful Andrassy Avenue in central Budapest ........... however on entering the bookstore go straight down to the escalator and ascend into the most magnificent " cafe" you will ever most likely have the pleasure of visiting in your lifetime ..... it is just breathtaking, the interior decor is reminiscent of the best of art galleries in Europe !
When you can move your eyes away from admiring this amazing art work which embellishes both the walls and the ceiling take a seat and order some of the best coffee and confectionery around .... the hot chocolate is devine and the carrott cake is just amazing !!
Do take some time to soak up this truly fabulous experience, there is no rush, and certainly the cafe staff take their time to serve you, not a bad thing if you can allow yourself this fabulous indulgence ..... Enjoy !!

Really bad service but a wonderful place.not really a nice quiet place due too station hall furniture, without fabric. However the beautiful art is worth viewing.

“Wonderful...”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

Perfectly organized Books and Souvenirs Shop in a beautiful building and containing in the upper floor one of the most beautiful Cafés; it was originally a Casino that was renovated after being occupied by several armies and bodies during the war and the previous regimes.

The Café decoration is similar to emperors palaces; the ceiling is breathtaking, the paintings, mirrors and chandeliers are magnificent; in few words; it’s a must visit.

“Good place for a drink (or a book!)”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

We were there on a Sunday afternoon (waiting for our Operate House tour a block down the street). It was a very impressive hall where the cafe is located. Make sure you read the history of the cafe on the first page of the menu. Yes, they did translate it into English. We got a yogurt turmix (milkshake) and a smoothie, both of which were standard tasting (and standard prices). Recommended!
