“Great Statuary”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

Nowhere near the grand scale you will get at Montmartre or Recoleta Cemeteries in Paris but still quite well worth the stop.

Kerepesi has more of a park like setting than that of a stoic place of rest many wonderful statues abound throughout and is definitely worth a stop if you have the time make sure to allow yourself a good 3 hours to really take it in.

“Large cemetery”
Reviewed 3 August 2013

Very large cemetery so take you walking shoes. Easy to walk or take public transit to from the down town area. Alot of beautiful statues etc., but as with any graveyard, much sadness

“Worth getting there and seeing it all”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

This is a lovely cemetery where many famous Hungarian heroes and artists are buried. It is a favorite for taking leisurely walks and is a tribute the heroes and others buried there. Far from being depressing, it is really an uplifting place.

“Well worth a look”
Reviewed 16 July 2013 via mobile

My family gets dragged along to cemeteries all round the world, but even they had to admit that ths one was worth a visit. It's about a 5 minute walk from the main railway station. In the cemetery you can see the most beautiful headstones and sculptures not to forget some amazing crypts and monuments. There are memorials and graves relating to the 1956 uprising, as well as lots of communist graves marked with black headstones and the red star.
I know this sounds odd, but it's like a cross between a park and a cemetery, lots of space

“A must see”

It is an amazing place. Huge park filled with interesting monuments from different periods. What is more, even it is a cementary one feels more like in a park filled with sculptures. Free
