“Just a cementary”
Reviewed 7 July 2014 via mobile

If you're not a grave fan, do not go there. It is really far away from everything else, you have to walk a lot and there are just old graves and some dry bushes. We were walking about 1 hour - that was enough for us. It was a waste of time.

“Interesting”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

The most interesting is not the set of luxury tombs which can be seen there, but the history lessons you learn there. Is possible to see how is a comunist cemetery and the bitterness of hungarians about the comunist rule in their country. If you have time, deserves the visit, but it's not a top attraction.

“Very beautiful place”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

Lots of greenery. Groomed alleys. Stunning headstones and monuments. We walked there for three hours and it was great.

“Large and atmospheric”
Reviewed 18 March 2014

Kerepesi Cemetery is very large and spacious, its area is about 56 hectares. It leaves the impression of being a bit desolate, but that fits the atmosphere. There are lots of beautiful statues and interesting tombstone.
I recommend this place for those who are interested in this theme and simply not afraid of cemetries.

“Gigantic cemetery, graves with character”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

We were grateful that we could drive our car into Kerepesi, because this place is huge. There are many graves with great sculptures, and tributes to Hungarian historical figures--some fighting for freedom, some fighting for Communism. One was the martyr who was killed by the Russians for cutting the Communist symbol out of the middle of Hungarian flags. Tragic. This cemetery has what has become my all-time favorite grave, that of Dr. Revay Bod, featuring a sculpture of a classical male figure accompanied by a robed figure of Death. Cool!!!
