“A real 5 stars...”
Reviewed 27 August 2014 via mobile

My wife and I decided to book this hotel as "base camp" to visit Budapest.
It is in a great position, very close to the start of Vaci Utca.
The hall is not very big, but so sought.
Furniture is really cool.
Room was comfortable and wide enough.
Bathroom something amazing: huge shower and robotic wc!
Staff is willing and very kind.
5 stars price....
Well recommended.

Wow! This is a wonderful hotel, we wewe upgraded to a Tower suite and it was so big that we never used the top floor. Great bathrooms with large bath tub, comfortable beds, very quet and a good spot to stay. The restaurant is also topclass, love their sushi!

Room Tip: All rooms are great but I Think you should choose something extra here, so priceworthy!

We spent 6 nights at Buddha-Bar in Budapest. I really liked the hotel!
The suite "decor" was just so cool with a very cozy bed and the toilette was also great. The two big windows had a clever double glass system and fancy dark curtains( what made my sleep much better)
Another thing that I liked was a italian coffee machine( Nespresso?) well, I do not remember the machine's brand but I did some nice drinks.

The hotel also have a spa with sauna, jacuzzis and a small fitness center.

I do recommend the lounge and the terrace if you want to have a nice meal or just take some beers.
The staff in Buddha-Bar Hotel is friendly and helpfull.

It is a place that I will come back for sure!

Buddha-Bar Hotel offers great service and a central location for site-seeing. A palace from the outside, the hotel has a chic red interior. The beds are comfortable. Breakfast is delicious. My wife and I also enjoyed the Asian restaurant and the bar.

The hotel does not offer parking, but they do have a valet service. $$$

LOCATION / CHECK-IN
The hotel location is perfect, we could walk everywhere in the city center from there.
We called them in advance to arrange early check-in and a room upgrade and they were very helpful. We received a follow up email with hotel, spa, restaurant information. When we arrived, check-in was smooth. The hotel interior is very special, dark and quiet, attention is paid to every detail.

SURPRISE
To our delight there was a complimentary wine placed into our room to congratulate us for our wedding anniversary (they asked over the phone if we have a special occassion). wow, this was a very nice gesture, a great start of our stay. Do tell them if you have a special occassion.

ROOM
The executive room we had first was very spacious, about 40sqm, it took us half an hour to turn on all lights, tv, figure out the japanese toiliet with remote control etc - felt like an adventure and was fun! We especially liked the multimedia TV where we could turn on the buddha bar lounge music. The sound system is great, speakers hidden in room and bathroom.
After the first night we upgraded to a corner suite, it was already huge and the high ceilings made it feel even bigger. The rooms are dark and misterious.

SPA
The spa area is small, but it has 2 saunas, 1 steam bath, a japanese cold water dip, a small pool to sit in (not to swim). It is great for an hour of relaxation after sightseeing. There are 2 hot stone lounges as well, it was so nice that my husband fell asleep on it :-)
The spa treatments are pricey, there are several spa-s in this area of the city where you pay much less. I guess if convenience is the most important then it is nice to be a lift ride away only.

BREAKFAST
The breakfast was superb, recommend to not only try the cold bufet but to order from the al´a carte menu (included in the breakfast). It is much better to have eggs prepared to our specification, presented and garnished beautifully, than a big bufet breakfast where the scrambled egg stays for hours. They were so specific with our order, even asked if we want both sides of our eggs fried or choose salmon or ham for our egg benedict.

STAFF / AMENITIES
The hotel staff is very professional and helpful. When our children joined us for the last night, I called to ask for size small bathrobe for them to use in the spa. They asked me for the age of the children (7 and 9), but I told them that a size "S" bathrobe will do, it is ok if it is a little big - I do not expect a hotel to stock child size bathrobes. To our surprise, housekeeping arrived 5 min later with 2 bathrobes. One for size 7 y old, the other for size 9y old. An other wow for us.

This encouraged my husband to ask for his favorite tea (darjeeling) the next day at breakfast, something not so standard to stock. Yepp, they had it and it was served to perfection (4min brew and in a metal teapot).
The concierge is very knowledgable and enthusiastic, we got great recommendations.

Overall our first stay in this hotel was great. This hotel is very different in ambiance from the big chains (hilton, mariott etc), it reminded us of the W hotel a bit with its darkness, lounge music, attention to details. The staff made the difference though, very professional and went out of their way to make our stay special. The rooms are also much bigger than in the W.

We visit Budapest every summer and will definetely be back to the Buddha Bar Hotel.

Room Tip: Executive rooms are 40sqm, there are a few of them with balcony (i.e. 319). Recommend to try the sui...

We spent two nights at the Buddha-Bar follow a Viking River cruise from Amsterdam. We had a jr. suite on the forth floor, which was fantastic. The furnishings were top drawer including our favorite nespresso machine. The red and black theme, gigantic shower/bath are impressive. The location is the best and just one block off the noisy streets. Despite being relatively expensive, the suite is worth the money. Service was excellent. Larry & Kelly, Georgetown, Texas

Room Tip: Go for the Jr. Suite

Dear Larry and Kelly,

Many thanks for your time to share your opinion about your recent stay! It is a pure delight to hear about your enthusiasm and that you so much enjoyed the atmosphere and the facilities of the Junior Suite. This is one of the most beloved room categories and especially popular amongst young couples with its romantic milieau.

Very much appreciate your kind words and do hope that we will have a change to take you another Buddha-Bar tour once you are again on this end of the world!

Kind Regards,
Eniko Bak

I stayed there when they had just opened. You first start to check-in and offered a cocktail, this is good. Rooms are extremely luxurious and comfortable. Very high end and well connected. The toilet will is a super fancy one that will clean you....enough said.

Excellent location and really easy to get around town. Staff was pretty great too and provided lots of info.

It was pricey but work paid for it, so I thoroughly enjoyed the experience here. Definitely recommended if you have $$$$.
