Owner description: Kisüzem opened up at the end of the year 2011 at the 'bar district' of Budapest at Klauzál square.Daytime everything is given to the classic coffeehouse atmosphere: 2 creative guys at the kitchen, wireless internet, fresh daily press and specially grounded coffee. The place is child and dog-friendly!In late afternoon, good wines and palinkas become more and more popular, the place is getting crowded.Starting at 8 p.m. on Thursdays, Kisüzem hosts smooth jazz and other diverse concerts.Kisüzem is not a romkocsma but not a fancy bar either: the place attracts all kind of artists and hip people from the neighborhood: it's a venue for musicians, painters, actors, journalists and fortunately for a lot of foreigners lately!

“Great place”
Reviewed 7 May 2013

After many attempts with ruin pubs, we discovered this place fortunately!
Food good, live music goood, the whole atmosphere great, prices good. The only disadvantage was the smell of the kitchen because there wasn't any ventilation except from the windows but it was bearable.

“Great bar!”
Reviewed 10 February 2013 via mobile

We stopped in on this bar after seeing it was quite close to our hotel.
Its a great find. The alcohol is cheaply priced but good quality.
The music and atmosphere is great. Its busy without feeling crowded!
We went a second night after enjoying our first visit so much.
The second night we went they had a silent film playing on a projector with a live pianist playing the score!
It was fantastic.
Lovely staff and even the occassional dog roaming around.

“best up and coming bar in downtown budapest”
Reviewed 7 November 2012

kisüzem is not just one of the far too many 'ruin pubs' popular among tourists and locals in budapest's seventh district. despite it's relatively small size (12 tables maybe) it has great service, charming regulars, and simple still great cuisine (sandwiches, sweets, soups).

“Something special”
Reviewed 2 August 2012

If you don´t have good enough reason to come to Budapest, Kis Uzem might just be it. We found this little bar by accident when we were walking around our new neighbourhood on our first evening in Budapest. There was a jazz band playing and the bar and sidewalks were crowded by (mostly local) people. It was funny to see how people used windows as on exit when they went out to smoke. The interior is very stylish and simple - unique concrete tables with lace pattern and the bar counter is also made of concrete. The overall feeling is warm thanks to the wooden floors, warm lighting and brick walls. Since that first evening Kis Uzem has been our favourite bar to pop in; a great athmosphere, friendly staff and just lovely little kitchen with really delicious food with reasonably price. Bands plays only occasionally but the music in bar is very good; mostly jazz or something else easy going music. Visit and enjoy!
