“Good location poor service”
Reviewed 14 August 2013

+ Location. ok breakfast.

-
The parking is 15euros and then you have to give your keyes away since the garage is so small they have to have cars parked behind eachother so the staff has to move cars from time to time.
Some of the staff was very arrogant and rude. i would try another place.

The location is perfect, walking distance from tourist sites and attractions, only stones throw away from Fisherman's Bastion/Matthias Church and the Chain bridge and the Castle/Palace area...
While on the other side of the bridge, location makes you cross it and enjoy the view every time. Our room could have been bigger, but was comfortable anyways. Service was exceptionally hospitable, buffet was good too...
Some things do not remind a 4 star standard, but that is true for many hotels in the region, everything else pays for what's missing...

As others have commented, the location is very good. Just about 2 minutes walk from the Buda side of the Chain Bridge. The hotel entrance is on a side street which also has a few bars and restaurants and a 24 hour convenience store is just around the corner. The Batthyany Ter Metro Station is about a 5 minute walk away.

The hotel staff greeting at reception was pleasant and efficient. The room décor was dark and had a bit of a 1980’s feel, but it did not look tired, was very clean and it was good to have tea/coffee facilities in the room. A/C was quiet and worked well.

Wifi internet was free and was excellent. I did not take the breakfast, so I can’t comment on the food.

I would definitely keep this hotel in mind for a future visit.

The hotel was prepaid by the internet. The check in was exccelent and immediatly when I arrived I was told that they can not offer a room with a view to the bridge because there is no such a room. The other positive thing was that I was given the receipt of my prepayment already at check in time. They have free internet in the hotel and in the rooms but I could not get connected from the room. They have three computers in the lobby, free of charge for the guests.
The room was ok nothing special. They have a tea/cofee maker and mini bar.The bathroom is big and pleasant. The amenities are old fashioned but the bath gel from the dispencer is very good smelling.
Like in other hotels there is a missperception when you ask for a double bed instead of two single beds. All they do is put together the two single beds !Next time I will ask for a big matrasse.
In the morning I had breakfast included in the price of the room which was good and nothing was missing.
The hotel is in the very vecinity of the "Lanc hid" and the famous Castle. The Danube is just across the street and you almost face the Parliament.Beautiful view !
All together I had a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: room 507 is a quiet room

This is a lovely hotel for a city break. Good breakfast, good multi-lingual staff and located close to the palace, tram lines and underground system. I visited with my wife in the winter and the hotel was lovely and warm. There is a really good Belgian bar next door with a wide selection of beers.

Placed on the Buda side very near everything.
Went there on a 2 days Budspest visit by car with my famely. We parked the car at the hotels parking celler and walked few minutes to bus, metro, rail and the city center.
Small but nice rooms and baths, and at very descent prices. Frindly and helpfull staff and a good breakfast.
We will defenently be at Carlton again.
