Let me begin by saying I cannot fault this hotel in any way.

Staff - In particular, Andras at the reception/concierge desk was incredibly helpful. I've seen that the manager of the hotel reads these reviews, and if you read this, give that guy a pay rise. He was a tremendous help in welcoming us to the hotel and assisting with our lost luggage (British Airways lost our case en route).

Food - Breakfast was delicious, and the staff were courteous and eager to help. No sooner had a glass of OJ been finished, more was offered. We also had dinner in the Icon restaurant which was a real treat. I strongly recommend the crayfish and coconut soup.

Room & location - As well presented as you'd expect from the Hilton chain, but the view we got from room 275 was incredible. Perfect views of the parliament building and the Fisherman's Bastion next door. Straight out of a guide book! Speaking of guide books, this hotel is frequently referenced as having the best view and location of any hotel in the city. They are correct. I like my photography, and was quite comfortable nipping out at midnight to take some perfect night-time shots of the Chain Bridge and Parliament building from Fisherman's Bastion, which is a minute's walk from the hotel entrance.

Other details: When you get to the airport arrivals, look for the Airport Shuttle Minibus counter. They will arrange a transfer to your hotel and it'll work out much cheaper than a taxi for only a short wait of about 10 minutes. However, I strongly advise only getting a single ticket. Booking a return pickup can be subject to delays, so you have to go relatively early. Instead, let your hotel conceirge book you a taxi for the return journey. Here at Budapest Hilton, they do so with a fixed rate, and send you there with their own driver (so you aren't going to get screwed by a taxi driver!) and add it to your bill for convenience. We got to enjoy the city for an extra 2 hours by doing things this way.

In a nutshell: This is a tremendous hotel, and you'd be well served choosing it for your hotel stay.

We spent a long weekend at this hotel last year. We were delighted from the very first minute with the hotel. The area were it is located is just beautiful, and it is well conected with the rest of the city by frequent buses. The service was amazing, really professional, helpful and extremly friendly

The hotel is a jewel itself, clean, modern, with fantastic views over the river bank, the Parlament and Pest. The room was huge and confortable, very clean and quiet.

We will definitelly come back to this hotel soon.

The Hilton Budapest is in an ideal location atop the Castle district with views of the Danube River, Parliamaent and the Fisherman;s Bastion. Nearby are several sites of historical interest, charming restaurants and cafes and lots of shopping. The hotel is conveniently located near a bus stop that takes you into central Pest in 15 minutes. When we arrived at the Hilton, we were warmly greeted by Gabor at the front desk who suggested a very reasonably priced room upgrade that afforded us a view of Fisherman's Bastion and the Danube River. Our room was extremely comfortable with a very large king bed, lovely linens and a well-stocked bathroom(I love lots of product!!). In the executive lounge, Petra was a great source of information about everything we needed to know, including directions to a movie theater on a rainy afternoon. We had a terrific room service burger. All in all, we were sad to leave beautiful Budapest.

We went to the airport, only to discover that our arrival airport in Skopje was closed due to fog. We declined the airline's offer of hotel and dinner and hopped in a taxi back to the Hilton, where we were greeted again as returning friends!!Eva at the front desk smoothed our re-entry.

A great hotel in the castle on the hill in the castle district with a million dollar view of the Danube, the Parliament Buildings, and the Fisherman's Bastion. You could not choose a more picturesque or romantic location. This was our second stay and we decided to splurge a bit on a suite this time and were rewarded with a beautiful large 2 story room. The standard rooms are great too and the rates are very reasonable, especially their weekend rate which includes one of the best breakfasts available, with both buffet and made to order items they deliver to your table. They have a paid parking garage but there is free parking on the street right in front of the hotel, you just need to get your parking card validated at the front desk (required to enter the Castle district). The only downside was the internet was a bit slow and you have to pay for it, with a clunky scratch card system for wireless access.
The service was equal to the hotel itself, including tours arranged through the hotel. Given this was January we were the only ones to sign up for the Saturday and Sunday tours, and so ended up with private 3 and 4 hour tours the 2 days for the same reasonable rate. This is one of the best hotel experiences in the world, unless you are willing to spend hundreds of euros a night.

I was very impressed with the facilities and service at the hotel. Our room faced the river and we couldn't have asked for a better, more romantic view of the city. The executive lounge was a great value and the people at the desk were always very helpful. We went to the wine tasting event in the Faust Cellar and it was even better than the online reviews! Our host is passionate about wine and customer service.
