I have just returned from this hotel having been there in charge of party of 30+ people. A good and very clean basic 3 star hotel. None of my party had any complaints at all - my room was small but adequate - no A/C and some noise from below in the late evening. I needed lots of logistical help and was delighted with the Manager - Marta - and her staff especially Eva and Anita too. Storage of 30+ pieces of luggage on our last day was handled without complaint and with smiles. Porter brought them all back down in time for short walk to bus ( street outside too narrow for direct bus access).

In my spare time ( not much of that unfortunately ! ) I found a great choice of restaurants close to the Hotel and it was a lovely and stress releasing walk to the Danube. Breakfast - good choice of Continental style food.

The location of the hotel is excellent! Two steps away from the most famous shops in the world and a little street with nice restaurants. I can say it's a little noisy outside of the hotel during evening time but this is a price for the center location. Subway station is around the corner. We were staying in superior room which was very clean and renovated. Our friend was staying in standard room and he wasn't satisfied at all. The room was old! The Breakfast was just normal. I mean like in every hotel this kind of category in Europe. Receptionists are nice, speak English, Russian, very helpful. Would come back but only in superior room!

Room Tip: Superior room or better.

It is really very good hotel.
I was there during 2011.07.11-2011.07.18.
Room was superior double. Small, but clean and functional.
A lot of restaraunts are situated near the hotel.
The is situated near the underground station and tramway path to get to in quickly, but far enough to not hear it during night.

First view of hotel was quite impressive but the room seems to be stuck in the past. Dark wood panelling, toilet system last seen at the end of the garden. No hook for the shower! As previous people have said no air-con and noisy. However, the bed was really comfortable, breakfasts were adequate and well stocked. Staff were on the whole very friendly. did a bit of a snoop on some of the other rooms and their standard was a lot higher & you could see that about 1/3 of rooms have air-con, so the room you get is a lottery, unless you upgrade. The positive side is that hotel is really well situated, loads of restuarants opposite in Liszt Ference, and close to Theatre district & loads of "cheap" bars towards the rear of hotel. 2 minutes to Oktogon Metro, short walk to Opera & St Stephens. Pleasant walk along boulevard to Hero's Square. For a long weekend was fit for purpose, got used to the heat & occasional noise. Hop-on-hop-off buses stop opposite hotel, well worth doing this to get orientated.

Room Tip: Upgrade and stipulate air-con

Good points - location near travel and city center, breakfast and wifi
Bad points - bathroom smelled so horrible (chemical) that had to close the door at all times and keep window open, which would have been OK but the park below the hotel hosts drunks and partiers all night - even on week nights. The hotel is being renovated, so sounds and dust are horrible. Elevators were ridiculously small with no room for luggage.

The doors required a key with a huge key fob that you leave at the front desk when you are gone *security* Major hassle every time through the door.

Sadly, I have seen better hotels in rural Mexico...
