“Super viewsfrom hotel”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

All the bedrooms face over the River Danube with superb views. All the other facilities are as described on their website. The staff were all very helpful and spoke excellent English. Breakfast was great with good choices available.

Outstanding - Views spectacular over the river parliament building and chain bridge.
Very friendly staff especially the lady that served breakfast and took the order, nothing was too much trouble.
Location was great, near to chain bridge, the castle and all attractions on the Buda side. Also very near to trams, bus and train.
If you fancy a run/jog from the hotel to Margaret Island and around the running track which goes right round the circumference it was just over 6 miles

Room Tip: all excellent views

We stayed at this hotel in October for a week. The rooms all have a view over the Danube towards the houses of parliament. At night parliament is lit up and the view is transformed from beautiful into a magical one. Needless to say we preferred to have a sun-downer in our room! Walking distance to most sites, this hotel cannot be beaten for site, friendly service and excellent breakfast to start the day.

Room Tip: I would advise 2nd floor in middle block- stairs possible without lift and equal view towards left a...

You could not really ask for more from this establishment. The location is excellent, the views over the Danube and out over the City on the opposite river bank are magnificent, even more so at night as dusk falls and the river begins to reflect the moonlight and the illuminated buildings. Totally romantic....!!!
The Buda Castle is more or less on the doorstep, the "Deli" railway station is a few minutes away to the West, the main Keleti Railway Terminal lies about two Kilometres to the East. Liszt Ferenc Airport is about 15Km to the South-East. The M3 Metro line brings you from there into the City, change at Deak Ferenc Square to the M2 to Batthyany Sqaure which is a few hundred metres from this hotel. There is also a tram stop right outside on Bem Rakpart.
The staff here are professional, courteous, proficient, and most speak English and at least one other foreign language.
The rooms are spacious, modern and very well appointed, we had small safe deposits, and mini bars and there was also air conditioning, however not required at this time of year.
The bathrooms are functional and clean, there are sauna and massage facilities and generously proportioned conference and function suites. Wi-Fi is included, and the Reception is manned on a 24 hrs basis.
I stayed here with friends for 2 nights and we booked over the Web, amazingly paying only €160 per double (superior) room for the 2 nights, which included a truly superb buffet breakfast.
The building itself has a partly modern frontage, behind which lies a traditional and typical Bohemian interior furnished with antiques in the common areas, there are old original enamel wood burners, oil paintings, and even complimentary "High Tea" and chamber music in the Salon from time to time. Truly Wonderful...!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor to the front of the building, this affords the best views, and reduce...

Booked this hotel on the reviews and we were not disappointed, the hotel is right by the river on the buda side within an easy walk to most of the attractions. The staff were all very friendly and the breakfast was lovely with a choice of eggs, bacon cooked to order. We had two rooms booked and were allocated the 7th floor which made the view amazing. The rooms were modern, clean and the beds were very comfortable, all the bridges and buildings are lit at night until midnight so it was lovely to sit and look out at all the nightime activity going on and the river boats going up and down the Danube. Book this hotel you will not be disappointed!!

Room Tip: All rooms have a good view, high floor rooms will make the view even better,3 rooms to a floor, end r...

My husband & I just arrived in Budapest yesterday. We are staying at the Hotel Victoria on the top (9th) floor in the middle room overlooking the Danube. Diagonally across to the left is the Hungarian Parliament bldg. and to the right is the Chain Bridge. It's absolutely beautiful at light when they are all lit up!

Hotel staff has been wonderful and very helpful. They will make your dinner reservations, taxi rides, you can buy Hop On-Hop Off bus tix, Budapest Card which is good for the trams and trains, etc.

Breakfast is very good. Cute room with choice of coffee or tea, meats, cheeses, juices, breads & rolls, jams, cold cereals, yogurt, fruit and they will make you either an omelette or scrambled eggs with ham. I'm gluten free and they accommodated me!

There is a small bar in the breakfast room where you can relax and have a drink or espresso/cappuccino.

The room is very modern with flat screen HDTV mounted on wall, floor to ceiling windows across the whole room that overlooks the Danube, mini fridge, a small seating area with desk & chair, 2 upholstered chairs with a small table in between, smart lights that automatically shut off when you leave the room and/or turn off if there is no motion. I.e., if you leave the bathroom light on it will go off after a few minutes but when you walk back in the light comes back on.

Every afternoon there is a free tea from 4p-5p and from 5:30p-6:30p they have 2 for the price of 1 drinks in the bar.

Lots of restaurants within walking distance.

You can order in-room spa services too!

The only drawback for the 9th floor is the lift only goes to the 8th floor so you have to walk up 1 flight of stairs, but I feel it's definitely worth it.

Room Tip: Room 93 is on top floor right in the middle. There are 3 rooms across the front of the hotel.

I booked this hotel for a quick, one night business trip to Budapest. I chose it because of its proximity to the river and potential views. I was not disappointed!

First, the location. Right on the river front overlooking the Danube and the east bank, beautiful view, especially at night all lit up. You are a short walk from the Chain Bridge and access to the commercial city and only a few hundred metres from the Fisherman's Bastion and its incredible views over the city.

The reception is small but very friendly. I saw three separate receptionists and each one had perfect English and could not have been more helpful. The check in process was fast and easy with quick lift to the bedrooms.

I had a large double room on the 1st floor overlooking the river. Very clean and a definite 'boutique' feel to the furnishings. Modern without being clinical. Large flat screen tv, mini bar and ample drawers and wardrobe space. Free, fast wifi as well. So many hotels claim to offer wifi but actually don't have the bandwidth to service more than two users at once. The Victoria has bandwidth to spare, I could watch UK tv on my laptop at HD quality with no pauses, excellent for the European Champions League game!

The bed was probably the most comfortable I have slept in for years! The bathroom was a good size with a great shower, hand held or 'monsoon head', good pressure and lots of hot water.

Breakfast was good by usual east European standards. Hot eggs, ham, cheeses, cereal, a good selection of breads and pastries, as much coffee as you could desire and fresh fruit. All served up in a room with the best view in town.

The price was good too, £69 including breakfast!!

I can be a little critical of hotels (read my other reviews!), but the Victoria has got it absolutely right. Well worth a visit.

Room Tip: There is a little daytime road noise at the front of the hotel but the double glazing is excellent s...
