“Fantastic find”
Reviewed 19 February 2014

On entering our room, it was an instant WOW! from both of us! The views of The Danube, Chain Bridge and Parliament Building were fantastic from the floor to ceiling windows. The room was large and well equipped. Breakfast was brilliant and set us up for the morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble at all. The hotel did provide free afternoon tea and use of a sauna but as we were so busy, we did not get to sample these so cannot comment on them. We arranged for the Minibus shuttle from the airport which took us to the door and was on the dot picking us up for the return journey. Very good restaurant right next door. We would definately recommend this hotel to friends.

Room Tip: Go for 4* Superior rooms and rooms ending with the number 1 or 3 are bigger e.g 613

I stayed at the Victorria hotel with my partner for three nights in February.

This is a pleasant hotel which is conveniently located for visiting the main sights on the Buda side of the river. It is also only about 300m from the Chain Bridge for access to the Pest side. It's in a perfect location and all the rooms have magnificent views of the Danube. Walk for 5 minutes along the river away from the Chain bridge and you can buy travel passes there at Batthyany station.

The rooms are clean and towels etc and changed daily. There is good air conditioning in the rooms. I was pleased to see a room safe although there is no coffee making facilities in the room. Bed linen is of good quality but there is only a heavy bed cover. In most 4 star hotels there is the option to have a sheet and/or the heavy cover.

The breakfast was plenty to keep you going for most of the day. Eggs, bacon, ham, cheese, cereals etc are available. It is perhaps lacking in a variety of fruit.

The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome.

There is much passing traffic on the roads outside but when the window was closed we couldn't hear this. There is afternoon tea in the music room at the back of the hotel and its worth a visit at least once during your stay. The Belgian Brasserie next door is good for a meal or just a beer.

I enjoyed Budapest and intend to return again. I would stay again at this hotel.

I love this hotel because of the wonderful view on the Danubio and old palaces. In ten minutes you can reach the pedestrian area full of restaurants, shops and people by crossing the bridge. The room is big, clean with a flat TV. The breakfast is acceptable.

Perfect hotel for a city trip. Friendly staff, very clean, really everything was superb. The best possible location for visiting Budapest. Nothing negative can be said. There are special offers for the low season. The transport from and to the airport is very easy with the shuttle.

Stayed here for 1 night only in a very spacious lovely room over looking the Pest side of Budapest, the Parliament building and chain bridge. The room it self had a very comfortable bed, internet worked well, and night lighting in the bathroom was a blessing if you needed to make a journey to the toilet during the night, however one needed a masters degree to work out all of the lighting switches which we found to be over the top.The view of course was to die for through the panoramic windows which is the main selling feature for this hotel.
Transportation and the hop on hop off buses are all but a short walk away, and there are many eating places in the street behind the hotel. I would however highly recommend the bar and restaurant on the right of the hotel as you look at it from the street, they had excellent food at good prices and very friendly staff.
The only downside I would like to bring up about this hotel is its extremely rude staff, being the two ladies who work at the reception. I don't know if it had anything to do with the fact that we were two ladies travelling together or not, as she bent over backwards for all the males I noticed , still I feel better for having mentioned it, as it really spoilt my impression on what really is a most beautiful city.
We found the price to be excellent value, and quite affordable for the room , and its location. Breakfast on the other hand was nothing to write home about either, and cost extra.

Room Tip: Book a room as high up as possible to get away from noise below

We spent three nights in Budapest over New Years Eve. Hotel Victoria was an excellent choice. 5 min away from a metro station which connects buda and pest, awsome view over the danube and on the parliament and decent breakfast. We also liked the light installations in the room.

We stayed here at the beginning of our two week trip to Budapest and Austria over the holidays, and couldn't have been happier. The rooms were a delightful surprise, the view was stunning over the Danube and the Pest side of the city, the breakfasts were our favorite on the trip... including the typical European selection of breads, cheeses, cold cuts, fruit, cereals/grains/nuts, jams etc etc. and a hot egg dish made to order... and all the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful, but especially Irena, and the woman who handled the bar and breakfast.
Don't miss the 'tea' 4 - 5 P.M. in the white music room.
We looked at maybe two dozen, narrowed it down to Gerloczy or this, and were VERY happy here in this spot. (Try the Gerloczy restaurant and especially their chocolate cake...better than the best in Vienna) Also, the Budapest Card made the trip across the river easy and free, with many other benefits. Very worth the small price.

Room Tip: You can't go wrong with any room with windows over the Danube.
