Great location (half way between the Parliament and the Chain Bridge); wonderful view of the Danube (it was so close that it felt like I almost touched it). The all-wall windows on the third floor room offered a spectacular view of the Danube, the Parliament, and the bridge from the bed. This image was enhanced during evening and nights by the multitude of lights.
This is the perfect location for romantic nights: beautiful view of Budapest while enjoying champagne with your loved one.

Hotel Victoria had a very helpful staff. Everyone was friendly and willing to assist in any way they could. The hotel was very reasonably priced and we had the best view in the city. The hotel is located on the Buda side of the river and with a top floor room, our view out of our picture window was incredible. The breakfast was good and you can order a hot entree if you want. The bathroom was a bit small, but the room was large and comfortable. The metro was two blocks away and a tram strop was right in front of the hotel. If we ever get back to Budapest, this is where we would stay.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Hotel Victoria in Budapest. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The breakfast included in the price of the room is excellent with selections of eggs, cereals, baked goods, fruit and yogurts, as well as more European choices of cheeses, salami, ham , vegetables and breads. Each of the rooms provides an exceptional view of the Danube, the parliament house, the Gellert hills and the several of the bridges across the Danube. One of the metro lines is within walking distance and several of the trolley cars are accessible right out the front door. We would definitely go back to the Hotel Victoria!!

My husband and I spent an extended weekend in Budapest. This hotel was perfect for our purposes and pocket book. We do a lot of walking, so we did a daily walking tour following our guide book--the hotel was the perfect central location to do them all. It was also located near some good restaurants--at the next street corner up from the hotel was a bar & restaurant with Hungarian specialties, a bit farther was the 'Angelika' restaurant with very nice food and good prices--anyway, lots in the area to try out. Three things that are at the top of my 'test' list in a hotel: Reception: Do the people at the reception come off genuinely friendly and do they only address my husband or acknowledge my presence, too? Smell test: Does the place have that funky cover-up cleaner smell--especially coming from the rugs when you walk in the room? Mattress test: Are the mattresses clean, firm--and, hmm, will the bed squeak? Well, this hotel passed all three criteria--the receptionist was soooo nice and not just to us--to all of the guests. I watched her while I waited at the breakfast table and she patiently dealt with some (pain in the behind) senior Americans (I can call them that, I'm American). She was the greatest and genuinely lovely. She was a great source for tips, could sense our needs (like letting us know there was a restroom we could use when we came back for our bags after check-out to leave for the airport), and she was simply pleasant to talk to. The hotel passed the smell test all the way--no funky smells in the lobby, corridors nor in the room. Everything was clean and well kept. The breakfast tables were always bussed right away and the floors clean. The buffet at breakfast was a pretty normal one for a 4-star hotel. Most of the clientele in this hotel were modest-looking middle-aged couples and families with older adolescent children. The room itself was on the 9th floor with a huge picture window and a spectacular view as commented on in about every other review about this hotel. I would wake up in the middle of the night and just lie in bed staring at the spectacular city. The only negative thing about the room is that the windows could not be opened, so it's recirculated air. I'm not sure what that would be like in the summer--and it was not the time of year to have the AC on. The mattress was clean and firm, no sags, so I didn't have to worry about a bad back. No bumps or squeaks either, kids. The bathroom was small, but very clean, the towels fresh. All in all very positive. We'd do it again.

We stayed at the Hotel Victoria for fourteen nights in May 2010. The hotel, located on the Buda side of Budapest, is very convenient for all the major cultural sites in both Buda and Pest. Set by the river, its rooms offer wonderful views of the Chain Bridge and the Parliament building. The room we had was very comfortable, with all amenties, and was spotlessly clean. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous and spoke an impressive number of languages. We would definitely visit the Hotel Victoria again on our return to Budapest.

It was by chance that i came across this hotel and i am glad i did. This little hotel is tucked away in a corner that not many would find.

As soon as i entered i was greeted with a very warm smile that changed the way i felt about my day. The simplicity and sincereity of their service was so what made the place so inviting.

It seemed that the staff were happy to have me their more as a friend rather than a client.
The ambience has a certain charm that eludes the other hotels that seem to be same. Great food which had quality written all over it

This place is a true gem in all sense of the word and would recommend this hotel to everyone that would like to have charm, elegance and value for money.
