The hotel is very well located in the heart of Budapest where everything happens.
The front looks very end-communist-high-level-style facade.
However, once you enter the hotel, everything IS high level.
The floor are very nicely done, with the typical grand carpets.
The rooms are spacious, with all amenities, including Hermes products.
Breakfast is also very good, with all you expect from a five-star-hotel breakfast. there is even a little terrace, where you can enjoy your breakfast, watching people passing by next to your table on a stylish pedestrian street. (if you like that - I do) You still don't feel like ON the street by in your own secluded, nice environment.

I am a Kempinski lover. Because of this hotel, I keep coming back to Budapest for a short vacation. Great Spa area, good access to sightseeing spots.
Free wifi, spacious rooms, clean, not overpriced.

Only Living room-breakfast (lobby) staff is moody and slow during breakfast service. It is a nice breakfast, but they need to increase the number of staff or improve the way to prepare breakfast. We had to wait 20 min for the first cup of coffee...it is too slow, when you are in hurry (leaving for the airport, etc).

This 5 star hotel is ideally situated for exploring the city of Budapest , situated in Pest , we found we could walk to most of the city sights. We wouldn't normally stay in a 5 star hotel, but this trip was reasonably priced. The hotel was very welcoming, staff very polite and all spoke good English. our room very large with a king size comfortable bed, a desk, sofa ,tv , mini bar and very large bathroom with both walk in shower, with plenty of hot water and a separate bath. lots of glass doors , which is a bit strange separating the toilet from the shower, very clean. We had a great view of the Basilica.our only issue with the room was it was too warm as the air conditioning had been switched off for the whole hotel. It was unseasonably warm however whilst we were there. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but know this is not usually available in European hotels. We did not eat breakfast at the Hotel as it was pricy but found plenty of places nearby to get breakfast. We did taste a few cocktails in the Hotel bar, which were great and very inventive, best when they have 2 for 1 offer. The hotel lounge by the open fire is also very cosy & relaxing.Service & staff were great.

The last time I had stayed was about ten years ago when working in Budapest and I had such good memories of both the hotel and the city. So a return trip was long overdue. We were certainly not disappointed. The staff could not have been more helpful and keen to ensure our stay was a good one, the room was clean and comfortable and the pool area whilst I agree was small was lovely. The hotel is perfectly located a stone's throw from Vörösmarty tér and almost everywhere you would want to visit. We walked everywhere and loved it. So when staying in Budapest treat yourself to the Kempinski........you really can't go wrong.

This is a very nice hotel situated right in the heart of Budapest ( Pest side )on Erzsebet Square. The hop on hop off bus tours leave from right across the street, the Danube is 5 minutes away as is the old Jewish Ghetto. Breakfast was served in the very comfortable bistro and has wide variety to suit all needs including freshly squeezed orange juice, cereals, pancakes and salmon with scrambled eggs.Yummy. The main shopping street ( Vaci Utca ) is to the rear of the hotel and has many well known shops, restaurants and coffee shops. The large indoor market is at the very bottom of this street. The hop on hop off bus tour is a great way to get around and the two day ticket also includes an hours cruise on the Danube. The Citadel ( for outstanding views )and Varhegy ( Palaces on the hill ) are a must for all tourists. There is a large choice of baths but we chose Szechenyi which is in the city park. It was cold and wet when we were there but swimming in the outdoor pool in the dark was warm and a joy to relax in. The indoor spa baths also offer a wide selection of relaxing baths. Its worth spending some time in the City Park before going to the baths as there are may interesting places to wander. There are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants but we particularly enjoyed venturing into the Jewish Quarter which is an up and coming area, There are some really interesting eating places and we would thoroughly recommend Szimpla Kert in Kazinczy Street for an experience.
