We stayed one night Dec 3rd before boarding our AmaWaterways River Cruise. I wish I had booked 2 nights there. A very modern hotel with wonderful comfortable beds and spotless rooms. The concierge desk was very helpful with our questions about attractions close by. The breakfast the next morning was a wonderful buffet that had everything you could want. Nice view of the river and chain bridge where we walked over and went up the vehicular to view the palace. At night we went to the Christmas market at St. Stephen's square and that was wonderful. Had our first taste of Gluhwein (hot mulled wine)..wonderful. We needed that to warm up. Had great red cabbage and sausage outside at the market. They did a laser show about the nativity on the Cathedral and that was a wonderful experience. Would definitely go back to Budapest.

Room Tip: Try to get a river view

How many of you leave items in your hotel room never to hear of them again, even when your ring and enquire about your lost item? I often leave books behind on purpose as, having read them, I do not want to carry them around in my suitcase. I did this at the Sofitel Chain bridge and was amazed to get an email the next day advising that they had found my book, and how would I like it returned to me. I was stunned... I had never received such an email from any of the five star hotels I have stayed in. The service in this Hotel is exceptional and very refreshing

We had Three nights at this wonderful hotel and really enjoyed the experience. The rooms were very comfortable, everyone spoke English and of course what I call "Sofitel French". What is Softel French? Well at every Sofitel (being a French chain) you are greated by Club, Reception, Porters, Waiters and cleaners alike with 'Bonjour'.

The Hotel was located centrally close to Markets & Shops, and is a sedate walk across the chain bridge to the Funicular which takes you up the hill to the museum and the palace.

We enjoyed meals in both the club lounge and the restaurant and could not fault the staff in any of their actions.

I enjoyed my stay here. I would return and recommend it to a friend. This hotel was clean, well located, comfortable and had plenty of helpful staff.
- I had no issues with cleanliness here. The carpets and bed linens were clean, stain-free and fresh smelling. The bathroom was sparkling.
- We were a 5 to 10 minute walk from many of the sites we wished to visit (or transportation to them). There were also countless bars and restaurants just a short walk away.
- The bed I slept in was very, very comfortable even though it was just a twin. The lobby was pretty quiet and offered some comfortable, clean furniture for guests.
- The interactions I had with the front desk personnel, concierges and business center staff were pleasant and did not require me to wait very long. All of the staff members that I encountered spoke English (not necessary but it made my life much easier).
I have no complaints or negative points to raise about this hotel.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the casino attached hotel and decided to go into the hotel for dinner...the waiter advised us that the restaurant would be closing shortly.....11pm...so she redirected us to the bar...the staff were attentive and found us a seat quickly unfortunately the bar food menu was not very extensive and again no options for vegetarians....there are millions of vegetarians in the world yet we struggle all over the world to find choices.... We are usually offered risotto, gnocchi, or salad it's very rare to feel enthused about eating out.... come on you restaurants give us a break we need to eat too....in the end there was very little available in the bar so we decided to move on...

Dear guest,

Thank you for your feedback and taking the time to post your comments. I am terribly sorry for your impression concerning our late night food selection at the bar. As your feedback is our most important guideline, I will forward it to the head of the Food and Beverage department, so we could improve our services and extend a more varied vegeterian selection for the night hours as well.

As a Sofitel we are always srtiving to provide an exceptional, personalized service to match all our guests needs, therefore it is very important for us to follow different kind of diets and gastronomical trends also.

Thank you very much again for your comments and I do hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the future.

Your sincerely,
Philippe Godard

We stayed at this hotel from December 30th to January 2nd and we ate at the restaurant for the NYE. It was a various and copious buffet with traditional fine Hungarian and French cuisine.

Hotel is great, as it's location as well (it' just facing to the Chain Bridge and only a few meters to the main street of Budapest

There is a really hospitality atmosphere throughout the hotel

The spa center and swimming pool is a good way to be relaxed and lightful

The Paris Budapest restaurant is very excellent with it's friendly and helpful staff.
