Made a pre-Christmas visit and were very happy with this hotel. Location is just overlooking the river, Chain Bridge and the castle on the flat Pest side of the city and very close to the pedestrianised city centre. It's well worth upgrading to an exec room that overlooks these sights - at night they are beautifully lit up and it's well worth the extra. Nice hotel room with extremely comfortable bed and good shower, toiletries and hairdryer in bathroom. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Would recommend and stay there again.

Stayed here with my parents for 4 nights. They stayed in a room with a view to the river, which was lovely. The food and service at the a la carte restaurant and bar were both excellent, and staff in the hotel in general were lovely! The location was also excellent, right next to the chain bridge and close to both the castle and other tourist attractions.
The reason I rate our stay 4/5 was mainly because of the breakfast, which was pretty awful, especially on our first day. There was a massive queue for breakfast and by the time we got shown to a table many people in front of us had left the queue. The buffet seemed good, with a lot of choices, if there had only been any left by the time we got there (which was about 9:45 when breakfast finishes at 11 on weekends). The next day we got shown to our table and then waited for 10mins for someone to get our coffee/tea order. Then they forgot one our coffees. And when my dad ordered another round of coffees for himself and my mother, they got given cappucinos. The day after that they forgot our drinks order, so by the time we got our tea and coffees, I was nearly done eating. On our last day we were at breakfast much earlier, just before 8, there were hardly any people and everything went swimmingly! I think the breakfast would be great, but they just cant handle the amount of people.
Also my parents room smelled like cigarettes everyday which is not very nice.
Other than that we had a lovely stay and I would definitely recommend the a la carte restaurant. Especially their desserts!

Well located hotel.

Rooms were clean and still new.

Staff were nice, however needed more training. Had no idea how to treat a accord platinum member. When there is a disparity between the purported benefits and our expectation, that means the staff need to better trained. If theres no benefits for loyalty to the accord brand then next time we'd probably check in the four seasons next door. Appears to be a nicer property.

Right at the city center walking distance from majority attractions. We stayed at the hotel club room for 12 nights during the Christmas and New Year period. To be honest, it is not a 5 star luxury hotel compared with others we experienced, there were some issues happened during our stay. However, we appropriate that the management's willingness to resolve the issue and their gratuity to retain their costumers. We would also like to express our appreciation for the Breakfast room and Club lounge staff's hard working. Their services were outstanding.
Strongly recommend: Club room with breakfast and view of Chain bridge.

Room Tip: Club room with breakfast and view of Chain bridge

Myself and my partner stayed at the Sofitel for 4 nights in December and have to say we really enjoyed our stay. The location of the hotel is excellent and is a great central base for sightseeing and is within walking distance to shops, restaurants and sightseeing. The hotel room was perfect as we had amazing views of the Chain Bridge and Buda Castle. The breakfast selection each day was excellent and really had a wide selection of choice to offer which meant we didn't need lunch at all any of the days. I would highly recommend the hotel and would seriously consider staying there again if we return to Budapest which we would love to as it was a beautiful city with plenty of attractions, lovely people, great food etc etc. Do not ponder on going to Budpaest it is well worth a visit.
