We had a fantastic 4 days in Budapest staying at the Intercontinental which is right next to Chain Bridge offering great views of the river and close to all other major attractions. We didn't bother paying extra for a river view as we were only staying a few nights but were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of what we missed one evening when the room opposite opened their door and we saw a great view of Chain Bridge which was lit up by now. The reception staff were very welcoming and our room clean and tidy. Breakfast was very good and we were lucky enough to sit right next to the window and enjoy the river view we didn't get from our room. The weather on our 4 day trip was glorious, warm and sunny with warm evenings as well. We did the usual tourist things making the most of the hop on hop off buses which also included a river trip and a tour around Budapest by night. Probably worth the money as it made it so easy to get around and you can get information about what you are seeing via headsets. Budapest is very clean and a great place to spend a few days. Staying at the Intercontinental was a definite bonus.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are fine but you will need to pay extra for a river view

Dear CamberleySheila,
Thank you very much for taking your time writing about your four-night stay in our hotel. I am much pleased about your note between the comparison of room view since I believe it is really one of the most adorable and powerful experiences that can be added to one's stay to make it a remarkable one. I am glad that you found a convenient and efficient way of sightseeing in the capital of Hungary. Reading that your choice staying at InterContinetal was a definine bonus is the most likeable comment for me. I definitely look forward to your return in the future - if I can say don't miss the magical Danube view experience from your room window...
Yours sincerely,
Claus Geisselmann

Stayed here for two nights. Hotel is located on the Pest side facing the Budapest Cadtle and Duna river. We had booked two rooms, both had a river and castle view. Later in the evening used their bar/restaurant for coffee and deserts, very good service and deserts.

Room Tip: Request a room with the river and castle view. It may cost a bit extra, but worth the price.

My husband and I chose Budapest for a 5 night break. Going to a city with one of the worlds most famous rivers we wanted to find a hotel with an undistubed view of it. The Intercontinental although a large hotel was our best decision, the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, we had chosen restaurants via trip advisor and the consierge phoned and made all of our reservations for us. The breakfast buffet is huge and varied very good quality. If you intend to visit this lovely hotel make sure you you book a room with a river view otherwise you will be disappointed.

Room Tip: Pre book room with a river view, not all do .

Budapest Intercontinental is a wonderful hotel and well desrving of its 5 star rating. The room is spacious complete with a walkin wardrobe, seperate writing desk, free wifi, wonderful shower with a mirror which does not fog up. Even a set of bathroom scales. The safe is about the size of a small fridge. Tea and coffe making facilites, plenty of chanels on the tv in English, German and hungarian. Bed very comfortable.
breakfast menu has such a wide variety available there were too many dishes to count. ( probably around 100).
Staff were very helpful from when first arriving at the door till leaving the hotel.
Secuity cards were required for the lifts and room door entry.
A business office available at no charge for guests
Wonderful views of the Danube river

I just had an awesome stay at the Intercontinental in Budapest, I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a suite with a stunning view of the river Danube and all the staff from first arriving until leaving really bent over backwards to make my stay one of the most memorable ever and I have travelled all over the world. I was also given access to the executive lounge where I enjoyed complimentary breakfast, snacks and evening drinks which was just icing on the cake. And even after all of the above mentioned upgrades & perks the general manager Mr Claus Geisselmann came personally to meet me to ask how I enjoyed my stay and wish me a pleasant onward journey which was a very nice touch. I will be back again very soon.

Room Tip: Always ask for a 'river view' room it makes all the difference.

Stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful time. Pleasant atmosphere in the hotel, all staff friendly and helpful. Our room was on the 9th floor with a spectacular view over the river Danube, comfortable large bed, really comfortable, clean room. Breakfast was good, something for everyone, certainly set us up for a day of sightseeing. The location of the hotel is perfect, central for all the attractions. Would definitely visit Budapest again such a beautiful city. Would also recommend a stay at this hotel.

Room Tip: River view well worth it
