“Great Hotel Pleasant Stay, Convenient to City Attractions.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014

Stayed one night prior to the start of our river cruise. The location was great close to most attractions, and shops and cafés. The. Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable. Would have loved a river view however the stay overall was very enjoyable.
Breakfast was great.

Fantastic views of the Chain Bridge and the Castle District. Wonderful buffet breakfast with superb range of food with excellent service. Comfortable air conditioned rooms. Well equipped gym with sauna, steam room and small pool after a day looking at the sights.

Room Tip: Worth the extra for a Danube view

We stayed at this hotel for three nights in July, on a short city break with friends. As we were checking in we were offered an upgrade to a room with a river view (which we had to pay for) and I'm SO pleased we accepted. WHAT a super view across the Danube and to the chain bridge close by. I spend any room time watching the boats going up and down, and at night the view was fantastic with everything lit up. We were on the 9th (top) floor.

The included breakfast was exceptional - the variety on offer was very good indeed as was the quality of the food and the service. We also ate in the hotel restaurant one evening and that was equally good; the waiters were unfailingly helpful and courteous.

The hotel itself is right by the Danube in the perfect location - walking distance from the Parliament (along the river), the Opera, the Basilica and the shopping area. In addition to the hotel there are good restaurants close by.

We couldn't have chosen a better hotel for our trip - we loved it!

Room Tip: a river view on one of the higher floors ( 9the floor is the top!)

My husband and I have just returned from an amazing trip to Budapest. The intercontinental staff could not be more attentive, nothing is too much trouble. The view of the royal palace every morning when you pull back the curtains is breathtaking, definitely pay for the river view. The breakfast was incredible, the service impeccable. We paid extra for the club access as my husband is recovering from a broken foot and we weren't sure how far he'd be able to walk. We had 'lunch' there each day and went to the happy hour which lasts for two hours, between 6pm and 8pm. Wine, sparkling wine, tea, coffee anything you ask for is freely available.
We also had a private tour guide for a couple of days. (See Emily review). The hop on hop off bus is worth using too. We will definitely return to this hotel, although the rooms are a little on the small side.

Room Tip: Choose a river view, we booked a junior suite for more room.

We arrived very late and were hoping to rest well, and we did. We were able to eat well from the room service menu even though it was very late. The hotel is beautiful, and the location is perfect, with a great view. The breakfast the next morning was so very good!

This hotel had great river views and a perfect location. It is within walking distance of many landmarks and local shopping streets. Staff excellent and took good care of us. This is one of my favorite cities in the world. Just wish they would add more English signs.
