Owner description: Lovingly restored after being reduced to rubble during World War II, this picturesque area is located in the heart of medieval Budapest, which is characterized by cobblestone streets, narrow alleys and lovely squares surrounded by baroque and classical buildings.

Great to walk around and take in the sites. You will get some great pictures, especially from Fisherman's Bastion. Sadly however, most of the buildings were destroyed during WWII. The palace interior was pretty much all lost and there's very little to see regarding the palace museum.

Castle Hill is one of the highlight spots in Budapest. Besides the buildings--Castle, Mattias church, Fisherman's Bastion-- there is fascinating history here. We actually visited twice and we still did not have time to visit the museums. The views over to Pest are beautiful. Leave yourself plenty of time and get there early to avoid the crowds.

We visited at the same time as the church. Do both together

Great views. Interesting site.

We did not go in but we're lucky enough to catch changing of the guard which was fun.

Have a coffee and enjoy the view

Loved walking around up on the hill in the evening by ourselves. Had early been up here with a tour guide. Great views over the city as night falls. Many places to eat.

Castle is nice, but only from across the river. From close its realy dissapointing. At night it looked good.
