This is a great looking building and stands out against all the other architectural delights around it. Guided tours are the best way to get the full impact and story.

This is the second largest synagogue in the world, and it is absolutely stunning. We did the tour in English, and we learned so much, especially not being Jewish. Everywhere you go in the world with tributes or memorials to the fallen Jews, your heart stops a moment. You can't help but think about man's inhumanity to man. With all of the talk about religious freedom, the Jews have had to put up with a lot of "stuff." The living tree, a weeping willow made out of steel behind the synagogue, is quite a tribute to the fallen people who were persecuted for their religious beliefs. The museum is part of the tour and worth a. visit as well.

We have just paid a visit here and it is an amazing place to see both inside and outside. The price shocked us a little which was around £8 each but we probably spent an hour in there including the guided tour so we felt it only a little costly. The tree of life is amazing and the stories the place holds are v moving. A must see...

Beautiful restored moorish building with a collection of religious objects. Highlight is the Holocaust Memorial Tree.

Our guide gave us so much history of this beautiful synagogue that she brought it all to life for us...good and bad times for the Jewish population. The cemetery and the Holocaust Memorial are very touching....something every visitor to Budapest should see.
