“A happening place”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

We took a Segway tour of the city and stopped by St. Stephens. People were spontaneously dancing outside. The square was filled with people. The basilica is a very beautiful building.

“typical basilica, interesting history”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Worth seeing with a walking tour to get history. And if you're walking around the city center you can't miss it.

“Peaceful”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

This church is the largest in Budapest and was named in honor of Stephen, the first King of Hungary. Construction took 50 years and it was completed in 1904 in the Neo- Renaissance style. It holds 800 worship worshippers and it' s interior is laid out in a Greek cross. The acoustics in the church are quite good and concerts art held there. The church is beautiful both inside and out.

“Beautiful Church, bad policy”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

Did not like having to pay to enter a church even if it was a "donation". They have a guard who makes sure you pay. This isn't really kosher. It is quite beautiful though and worth a visit.

“incredible decorative ceiling”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

The Basilica is resplendent with the most ornate ceiling I have seen in a long time. We got in for free and just spent half an hour gazing at the beautiful frescoes and artwork on display.
