Vaci is a Fun Street to take a Stroll. Very Crowded and a Great Place to have Lunch, Drinks and People Watch. Always music coming from Street Players with lots a activity going on. A must see while exploring Budapest.

Great street for shopping. Stores range from average prices like C&A + H&M to boutiques. Several great restaurants and fast food joints.

This is one more place in Budapest which you can't not to visit. There you'll find lost of known brands but that isn't the point of this street..Point are people, lost of people that are creating a relaxed, home atmosphere.
Be careful with cell phone sellers which are stopping people and those who are offering places to hang out

Vaci utca is a famous pedestrian street that runs through the city centre of Budapest from Vorosmarty Square to the Grand Central Market building. It seems that all visitors end up here at one time or another during trips to the city.

We enjoyed the Vorosmarty Square area as well as the Grand Central Market at the end of Vaci utca. We also enjoyed seeing some of the old buildings with architectural decor from bygone decades, found on both sides of this street.

There is a really neat shop called, the Philanthia Flower Shop that was unfortunately closed for renovation when we visited this time around. Hopefully it will reopen in the near future as this was a very nice, extravagant place to visit many years ago. A quick visit St. Micheal's Church is also worth a few minutes of your time when walking along Vaci utca.

As expected, there are numerous restaurants, cafes and coffee shops along Vaci utca, many are quite clearly geared for tourists so we might suggest dining elsewhere.

Many souvenir and others shops dot the street as well, providing plenty to look at from the outside while strolling Vaci utca from one end to the other. Unfortunately, we found the prices considerably higher than what was available at the Grand Central Market (top floor) shopping area.

In the end, we didn't enjoy this street as much as trips to Budapest years back. It just felt overly touristy at times, especially compared to other thoroughfares nearby which also had shops, restaurants and a more hassle free environment.
