“Christmas Market: Crowded but worth the experience”
Reviewed 22 December 2013

This was our first Christmas market visit in Europe so we had to go. The place was elbow to elbow in places and a little frustrating. Hot wine is a must but you can skip the rest. If we knew what we would find at other Christmas markets, we would have spent 10 minutes here, just to say we were there and then left. We found much of the merchandise to be the same price in many of the large markets we visited. If we had to do this again, we would look for some smaller less well known markets which have a more local feel.

“X-mas market”
Reviewed 19 December 2013

It is amazing, the smells and the gift ideas are amazing. It is a bit pricey but they have unique, handmade and traditional Hungarian gifts you cannot find elsewhere maybe at the Budapest Market Hall, which is also a must see.
If you are there you must try the hot wine and some sausage a great snack. If you are feeling cold, about the center of all the stands, you find a covered tent to get a bit rest for your legs and a break from the cold.

“Lovely Christmas markets”
Reviewed 11 December 2013 via mobile

These seemed like the main markets in the city. Easily accessible by getting the tube to deak and walking down past the shops. I purchased some chimney cake and a proving dish. Very enjoyable

“A nice little square”
Reviewed 29 October 2013

This is a nice little square which marks the start of Vaci Ucta. There is the usual touristy places on the square but the only place that stands out is Gerbaud. Be warned this pastry house is expensive but still worth a try and then compare as you find cheaper places on your wanderings. There isn't a lot more to do here other than sitting on the statue steps and watch people go by.

“Tourist trap”
Reviewed 27 October 2013

Budapest is such a wonderful city with so much to see... don't spend more than a passing moment in this square. Its full of overpriced mediocre restaurants and chain stores. If you want to experience the real Budapest, head to any of the surrounding districts ( I personally love the feel of the 7th district/ Jewish quarter)
