The hotel is wonderful!!
Lovely staff, great food, wonderful location ( in front of the Danube ), wonderful spa (marvelous swimming pool!!!)
Beautful room ( we stayed on the 5th floor with most extraordinary view , facing the Danube and the Palace in Buda...)
The outside and the inside architecture are breathtaking.

The building itself stands out from the crowd. Beautiful architectural spot. I spent 4 nights celebrating my birthday. The staff was very attentive and polite. There was a Birthday cake waiting for me at the room!

We had an issue with the first room on the top floor, as there was a disgusting smell which got really strong on the second day. It seems they have problems with the sewerage system at the floor only but we were moved to a new room in a matter of minutes.

Hotel is really close to everything and you can visit both parts of the city (Buda and Pest) very easily from there. Business center is very handy to check on emails or plan your visit on the internet, concierge was really helpful when providing tips for dinner.

Fitness centre and infinity pool area were very clean, new and not crowdy at all.

I really wanted to love this hotel as I had been planning to stay here for a long time & it's a superb building - but there was something important missing & I left disappointed.

Our welcome was charming but then it started to go wrong at reception. After we'd checked in & as we were admiring the hotels location the receptionist did a hard sell on their one last room with a Danube view. It was a lot more a night so we dithered & she stressed our booked deluxe room's lack of view etc & so we agreed on the upgrade. We shouldn't have given in to the pressure but i've never had this experience of cold selling in a hotel before & it left a sense of discomfort.

Imagine our surprise when the receptionist took us to the last river room room left & there were guests in it. Guests who i might say looked completely stunned at having their bedroom door opened & three people about to walk in.

The receptionist hurried us out but never explained to the poor people in the room what had happened. She then went to an internal phone & as we waited (now joined by the porter & our luggage) she miraculously found another river view room.

& the view was superb & the room was beautifully decorated - although the bed was far too soft.

From here service let the hotel down badly. We were paying a lot of money a night but we weren't offered a drink on the house as an apology for the mix up - there was no plate of fruit - no note of welcome from management and on one night no turn down service at all. One morning despite the do not disturb sign being on our door a staff member rang the door bell to come in.

The formal restaurant was closed - although the staff acted as if there wasn't a Pava restaurant & functionally there isn't but that's not what the website says & a short statement about why it doesn't exist would have helped.

The food in the casual restaurant was ok - funnily enough the food in the bar was better. The staff were helpful & very pleasant especially the young men on the front door.

I felt that we spent a lot of money & got little return & I left feeling sorry that I'd booked the hotel.
