Would absolutely recommend this to families or anyone that loves their animals.

It was 2500 florints to get in for an adult but they offer family tickets (2 adults and 2 children) etc for those looking for a group booking. It's incredible value for money!

Would recommend spending a whole day there if you have the time as it is such a big zoo to get round, we did it in a morning and still didn't get to see everything!

It's fantastic if you have little ones as they provide little carts to be able to pull them round the zoo, especially in the very hot weather!

They have every animal imaginable and clearly look after them very well! There is plenty of opportunities to feed different animals (my favourite being the giraffes!) and there are different talks throughout the day for different animals.

They have plenty of cafes and restaurants to stop in during the day when the heat gets too much, again especially when you have little ones!

One of my favourite outings whilst we were in Budapest!

A lot of animals, but very limited info in English (or any other language than Hungarian). Hungarian map shows a larger area than English which feels a bit odd. There are many spots where you can fill your bottle with fresh drinking water is great on a hot day. There is an awesome playground in the zoo, which almost stole the show. It was so difficult to get 9 and 6 year old kids back to see more animals. Swimming bears was my childrens' favorite in the zoo. They loved insects, mice, lake fish, and snakes too.

Most animals have species name in English, map was given at start which was handy. It's far bigger than it looks, expect to be there for over three hours. Its way cheaper than any zoo in England. Some of the cages had nothing in them, the elephants cage was à little small other than that it was awesome. Beware magic mountain has no animals up it, it's a massive climb after hours walking round the zoo for not much.

Upon entry we received a map and information about the zoo. Well worth the visit; there are so many different animals to see, and the grounds are well maintained and rubbish free. Very enjoyable.

Budapest Zoo is quite big and is a part of a big park and recreation area, but has it's fences and is not free. Animals are arranged to live each in his own house and surroundings. Some of the animals you can see only if you enter the building itself - it's a good solution if you were caught by heavy rain. Some of the buildings smell awful. You get a good map with your tickets. Easy access to wheelchair and fast food is available. Gardens are located next to the animals and most plants/trees carry names for easy learning.
