“Positive and negative sides”

I stayed in this hotel, and at the first sight, honestly i was far from impressed.Exterior is pretty old, windows also, and three big holes on the wall in the enterance. When i entered in the room i was surprised.Large room, three beds, table with two chairs,tv (also old,but it was ok),a mini-bar ... not bad you would say.But entering in the WC was ... a disaster.Rusty floor on the space planned for taking showers, towels that still have stains, shampoo that looked like detergent ... The meals also ... the worst soup i ever tried, bread from 3 days ago,and waiters unwilling to help you.P.S - the fridges in every room were leaking. The Positive side is that when you stand in front of the hotel, the public transportation line which is pretty cheap is in front of you. Also,if you want to buy something from the supermarket, there is one on the left side, approx. 5-10 min. on foot going left from the hotel entrance.Rooms were large, which enabled us to gatther all in one,so i would like to point at that, but .... still ,i don't think that this hotel deserves 3*.Renovations,bigger discipline, and higher quality services are needed to be improved.
And i almost forgot ... the elevator ... oh .. you press "F" for the mesanine, and that takes you to the 3-rd floor :(

Quite old fashion, located on the Buda side, the Ventura Hotel would definitely need some renovations.
Rooms are large, but quite old, with that sort of "Eastern-early 80's-style" that cannot give an added value to your vacations.
The location is quite, but pretty far from the center and from all the turistic sites, but It's easy to be reached by taxi (less than 30 min), minivan or public transport from the airport.
You can easy reach the center of the town using public transportation (the unexpensive way!).

We booked the room as it was recommended by the organizer of a cat show. The price seemed ok, so we went ahead.
However, we were disappointed. They only have twin rooms, we ended up putting two beds together as we have a baby.
The room itself is quite outdated, the bathroom was clean but... The walls are paper thin, I guess everybody could enjoy the midnight ballad from our baby...
The breakfast room is too small, we had to wait quite some time to get a table, the breakfast was very poor.
The check out took ages. There was only one person at the counter and 10 people in line... Terrible.
I will definitely not stay at that hotel again.

The hotel is in need of some renovations. Location is somewhat non-optimal on the Buda side of the river and off the center, but there's a tram stop almost right in front of the entrance with ~10 min ride to the main sights. Breakfast was included, but it was quite terrible and the foods were every day the same. Price was of course very affordable, so did not expect too much.

The Ventura hotel rooms, for myself and my work colleague, were reserved for us by the director of a National Hungarian Institute were we followed a ten day training course. Ventura hotel is located on Buda side, approximately twenty minutes drive by taxi or inexpensive minivan service from Liszt Ferenc Int airport. A twenty five minute (or so) bus and tram trip takes you to the picturesque Budapest city centre from the hotel. The hotel is on a busy Fehérvári ut (road). Tram stops are just in the middle of the road in front of the hotel and frequent buses stop a few meters to the side of the hotel. Banks, restaurants and mini markets are also on the same road, just a short walk away. The hotel was simply fantastic for a three star hotel grading and reasonable bed & b'fast rate (especially when you take in consideration the most favourable exchange rate from Euro/USD/GBP to Hungarian Forint). The room and bathroom, on level two, was spacious, clean and quiet. We made use of the hotel's gym and sauna. Breakfast was very good and occasionally breakfast also included a choice of beef steaks, vegetables and a touch of sweet and spicy hot Hungarian cuisine! Reception staff was very welcoming and helpful. Other staff members did not have a good command of English but sign language worked well.

I was yesterday there. I hope I never should to stay there again. The room and the badroom were dirties as they can be. I tried to not to touch anything. On my badsheet was a hair and worst: a blood stain. No hairdryer in the room. The hotelstuff, especially the women in the reception, was not so kind and nice to us. But after all bad things, the breakfast was really good and the location was acceptable.

We stayed at this hotel with my husband on our trip to Middle Europe. Everything was arranged by travel agency, but the hotel changed from another one to Ventura and we were glad in the end. Because right in front of the hotel there is a tramway station going to the city center which takes something like 25 min. The lady in the lobby was helpful, she told us how to get to the city center, single tickets can be obtained from the lobby as well. Breakfast was good, there was cheese, butter, tea, coffee, salami, eggs, breads, cakes and pickles (classic for Hungarians). I enjoyed breakfast. Rooms were clean. Bed sheets were white, beds and pillows were soft. But the towels were worn-out, some had stains of rust. Bathroom was small, there was hot water. There was not any hairdryer in the room so that is bed news. There also exists free internet at the lobby. This is a budget hotel so do not expect much. I think it is better to stay at this hotel if you only use it for sleeping. By the way, we did not have any problems with the bed, no insects, no bugs..

Room Tip: We stayed in 452, it was ok.
