Stayed at this hotel in July and it is a very good one to find! The first impression from the outside may not fire your enthusiasm but on entering you will feel that you have found a true local gem. It is not a modern high rise hotel but a clean comfortable one with brilliant staff who seem to want to share their city with you.

The rooms are clean, decent sized, comfortable beds, tv and tea making facilities. I stayed 'room only' but the breakfast is only 3 euros so is worth looking into.

The hotel itself is located in a side street very close to Nyugati Palyaudvar which is the western railway station, about 2 mins walk. When you get off the metro follow the Vaci U signs and it will bring you up almost under a green sign on a street corner, go left there and first right and its in front of you. Around the station there are plenty of eateries and the metro, trams, and buses all stop at Nyugati making travel around the city very easy. If you feel a little more energetic then it is not too far to walk to the center, about 30-40 minutes.

This hotel does not have a gym, pool, fancy restaurant or a big flash reception but with so much to do in Budapest who needs any of them? This is a good quality, friendly, clean and welcoming hotel that should not be overlooked!

We chose this hotel as we wanted a smallish local hotel vs a big chain hotel.
We went to the transfer shuttle desk at the airport which is the best and cheapest way to get from aiport to hotel, they take you directly to wherever you need to go and base the price on that - it is very reasonable at about £18 return - booking pick up a day prior.
The hotel was just what we wanted, simple, comfortable - breakfast was worth having every morning - again simple but good set up for the day ahead.... they sell alcohol at the reception/bar and it is sooooo reasonable, plus there is a fridge in the room. All very clean and the staff were exceptionally helpful with restaurants/taxis booking spa etc.
The location is perfect with only a 5-10 min walk down to the river and just round the corner from a metro/tram terminas which is well worth buying a pack of 10 tickets to us - only a £1 a journey.
Would definitely recommend this hotel. The lady that does breakfast and cleans rooms is lovely. They have guide books in reception too.
If you go get yourself to the freewalk tour, you pay tips only.............it is a great way to get your bearings and see the main parts of the city - 10.30am from the main square.........

The room was clean and quite big. The street was quiet, no shops or bars that made noise until late in the night.
The staff was very helpful and friendly, and they all spoke good English. There was even a German TV channel on the TV.
For the low price (40 Euro per night, tax not included) this hotel is just the thing for Budapest. You are close to a metro and bus station adn only 10 minutes walk from the Danube.

This hotel is great value for money however it did feel to be in a bit of a dodgy dark street for a woman travelling on her own. It is in a great location though, close to a metro stop and one of the train stations plus easy to walk to the parliament building and other tourist spots. The room was fine but there was a toilet smell. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

I stayed in last week of December-2013 and found this place as value for money.
Rooms were too good (dont forget to keep a towel on the floor in bath area).
Staff is very helpful. They helped us in booking several tickets and helped us with city maps and assisting about the right place to visit.
Bus station is near by which takes you to central market.
If you love to walk and see Budapest beauty then its worth walking...
I would like to see some more options for vegetarians in breakfast ..But it was very good.
Budapest is a tourist friendly place and one must visit it. Take HoHo Bus or city tours..
Do visit chain bridge in day and night (before 12 as they switch off the lights at mid night)..
Hot wine , cake and cheese roll near to chain bridge is must has thing.

Room Tip: They will give you the best room.
