Stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting beautiful Budapest. Our room was not the most luxurious I've stayed in, but it was clean and the beds comfortable. Good location for getting around. Breakfast disappointing and not worth the money - we breakfasted elsewhere having tried it once.

Room Tip: Our room 155 was at the top of the stairs, so noisy when people came back at night, but very quiet o...

This hotel is at a great location in the Pest inner city (Belváros/District V) by the Elisabeth Bridge (Erzsébet híd). The main tourist pedestrian zone Váci utca is just around the corner.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and in good condition. Room had TV, radio and fridge. The only downside for me was that there was no kettle/water boiler for hot water. Also, the walls are pretty thin, referring to noise. I could hear loud conversation from the room next door one night, which of course interrupted my sleep. But without these two downsides it was a really good place to stay. I stayed 4 nights.

We stayed there 3 nights, the room was confortable and clean. It is perfect for students as it is quite cheap but with quality.
The locations is very good, right between Buda and Pest.
Even is there were a lot of construction work going on outside the hotel we didn't hear any noise.
Definitely recommended.

It is situated in a great location very close to Daube and very close to metro station and also to exchange machines and ATMs. You can easily walk from the hotel to the bridge of Chains. Moreover, the staff was very helpfull and knew very good English. The rooms were clean, very warm and comfortable. Good value for money. Breakfast was fine. We would certainly recommend it.

Room Tip: You should ask for a room with a view to Danube

Good location, in the centre of town and only a short walk from most of the sightseeing opportunities Budapest has to offer. Although we only spent minimal time actually at the hotel the staff were friendly, it was clean and the beds comfortable.

Highly recommend for location as so central and room was clean and provided the basics. The breakfast area was full of character and helps to set this hotel apart. If u are not looking for any frills then it ticks all the boxes.

Yes, absolutely great location on the Pestan bank of the Danube, 30 min on foot from the Keleti train station and a stone's throw away from the famous Vaci street. Extremely close to the bus and metro stop; a CBA market open until 11 pm close-by. Wonderful for late night or early morning walks on the Danube bank.
Room was clean; simple, but not old, furniture. Great free Wi-Fi connection. We enjoyed having a fridge in the room for cool drinks. We stayed in room 204, which faces an interior courtyard (forgot to take a picture), but the window opened directly in a very small service balcony so the first thing we saw when looking out the window were a bunch of buckets, mops and rags. We were not bothered by this as we stayed inside the minimum amount of time. The building has 5 levels but there is a small elevator you can use.
You can buy tickets at the reception for a hop on hop off tourist bus (500 HUF off) that stops across from the hotel (keep in mind that the first bus arrives at this stop at 12.30 and the last close to 6 pm - it's not the greatest choice; however you can reach Erzsebet square - the departure point- on foot in 10-15 min).

Room Tip: Avoid rooms next to the doors opening on the inside courtyard - people tend to let them close by the...

Dear OnutzaD,

We would like to thank you for your recent visit at City Hotel Mátyás and your positive feedback about our hotel. We are delighted that you liked the location and the early morning and late night walks along the Danube bank. Those are extraordinary experiences, no doubt.

Thank you for sharing your opinion about the room nr. 204. Its windows exceptionally looks to a private home entrance, so that the management are going to discuss with the owner concerning this issue.

Do hope we will have a chance of welcoming you back to our Hotel in the near future.

Best regards,
Zsuzsanna K. Csapone
