“One week in Budapest”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2014

We stayed almost a week at the Tulip Inn Millenium hotel. Our room was big and clean. Basic but comfortable. The air condition worked well, the breakfast was fresh and rich, with good coffee. Everything worked fine and the desk staff were always friendly and helpful. We will stay there again next time (in September).

We stayed there for 5 nights in a triple room on the first floor. The third bed was a folding bed -that little detail was not mentioned by anyone or anywhere in our booking. It was not comfy at all.
The room was really spacious and clean. An unfortunate event was that the cleaning lady forgot to collect the trash one morning and when we came back the place was full of ants - on the trash can, on the sheets, on the rug.
Although there was airconditioning, it didn't work properly so it was quite warm inside the room.
Free wi-fi was included in the room price but it was not viable to connect quite a few times.
The staff was helpfull and polite. The breakfast included a buffet with a wide variety of choices for all tastes.
There is a metro station close to the hotel (5-10 minute walk) but the area is not woman - friendly during nightime.

Room Tip: if you book a triple room, avoid the ones having folding beds

Located 15 minutes away from the airport, this is a valuable solution for business travellers and tourists who are not interested in having their accommodation in the very city centre. Metro station is very close (M3 line brings you in the city centre in 10 minutes), average level of cleaning, average/good level of the meals at the restaurant. Wifi does not work in the room, only cable connection, but you can ask for cables at the reception or stay in the hall where the wifi is available. Breakfast included.
Overall a good compromise between convenience and quality.

Room Tip: Many school trips choose this hotel, make sure your room is not in the middle of the teenagers'...

I stay 2 nights at the hotel and after the first night they did not pass to do the room. In the other hand their curtains are not good at all. Red and all the sun light pass through. So at 5 am I wasn't able to sleep because of this.

The buffet for breakfast was good. and they havea parking lot.

Was in the hotel for 2 days for a business meeting. The overall cost benefit may be ok for a low budget hotel. The plus is the low room price, the minus is the distance to the city. One taxi driver charged 3600 HUF, another 2000 HUF. Very unreliable taxi drivers... You can also walk around 250 meters and get a metro to the city.. The hotel room reminded me of a hospital room or a low budget boat cabin. You get the very basics. The bath towels are far from being close to a white color. The bed mattress a very basic one. The room carpet and walls need serious cleaning.. The room size was spacious I can say. No wifi in room, only by a cable provided from receptionist.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the back side since the hotel is located on a very busy road

I stayed just one night at the Tulip hotel and I was impressed. The staff were friendly, the room was very fine and clean, and the breakfast buffet offered a large choice, hot and cold, etc. The hotel is just a few minutes from a metro station where you can get to the city centre in less than 10 mins. As a budget hotel you can't go wrong.
